A tag has been placed on Mark Cianfrani requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://obits.ocregister.com/obituaries/orangecounty/obituary.aspx?pid=173872460. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Deletion discussion about Steven Boockvor

Hello, Barnonetwo,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Steven Boockvor should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Steven Boockvor .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Melaen (talk) 20:28, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Donald Rayson McGrath

Hello Barnonetwo,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Donald Rayson McGrath for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Melaen (talk) 20:29, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Walt Hunter (Broadway actor) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. A tag has been placed on Walt Hunter (Broadway actor) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Please take a break

You appear to be busily creating biographies for everyone ever involved in The Lieutenant. Many of the biographies you've created have already been speedily deleted, and many more are nominated for deletion. Please take a break and take some time to read and understand Wikipedia's notability guidelines for biographies. Note that significant coverage in independent sources is required. This does not mean passing mention in a theater review, or listing in a theater database or compendium. It means that someone has taken the time to write a full feature length article (preferably more than one) about this person. When you can provide evidence of that type of coverage of the topic, then you can create the biography of them here at Wikipedia. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:55, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You seem very knowledgeable on this. I am new to Wikipedia. I would love more help and/or assistance. @WikiDan61:

My advice to you is that the article on The Lieutenant is sufficient. The articles on every person involved in it are unneeded. The article on The Lieutenant should be expanded with production details (opening date, closing date, etc.). Use articles about other Broadway shows as examples. And then move on to write about other things. (If all you ever write about is The Lieutenant and its people, other editors might begin to assume that you are somehow connected to the show.) WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:08, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. That is super helpful. I am doing research on it, and that's why I keep adding. I really appreciate it. I was going to update the page with Gordon Grody, who did go on to fame as a vocal coach for Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga. Is that acceptable? @WikiDan61:

I'm not sure what kind of update you have in mind. Adding Gordon Grody to the list of people involved with The Lieutenant is fine, but if you intend to create an article about him, you'll need more than the fact that he was a vocal coach to some famous singers. Again, you'll need to show evidence that he meets the criteria for inclusion. In general, you need to keep in mind that Wikipedia is not the same kind of site as IBDb or Talkin' Broadway or any of the other theater-centric sites that aim to provide an exhaustive database of everyone who ever trod the boards. Wikipedia is more selective about who we create articles about. And this is not snobbery; Wikipedia wants to be a reliable source of information in its own right and in order to do so, we rely on the fact that our articles are verifiable by citations to reliable sources. The model at Wikipedia is that a researcher who comes to Wikipedia for information should be able to read a well-written summary of the facts known about the topic at hand, but should then rely on the sources listed in the article for actual verification of the information in the article. Without reliable sources, our articles cannot be relied upon to contain correct information. (I say "our" here to include you, as you are now a Wikipedia editor and should take ownership of Wikipedia's reliability as much as we all do.) WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:31, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. This is exactly the kind of direction I am looking for. You have no idea how much I appreciate it! I am much better working one on one with people. @WikiDan61:

Proposed deletion of Dennis Dennehy

The article Dennis Dennehy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't meet WP:BIO or WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
