Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Felidae. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. IMDB and Wikia are not reliable sources and never were. FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 08:51, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. You seem to have some confusion as to what constitutes a reliable source on wikipedia. While there are some things that we can source to IMDB, in general it's pretty problematic in terms of the criteria for identifying reliable sources. Fairly large portions of the site are user edited with no guarantee of editorial control. This makes both IMDB and fan wikis such as Wikia something that are strongly discouraged. You might want to take a look around at the manual of style for the film project; it will give you a better sense of our small chunk of wiki's goals and how you can better assist on improving Felidae (film) or other film articles. And if the only source of information is unreliable, but the information from it on Wikipedia is still there - is this correct? Because the information about Carey Elves, Michael Madsen and others is taken HOW-TIME from an unreliable source. Or am I missing something? 10:01, 7 May 2017 (UTC)

Ideally, stuff like that should be tagged for needed a reliable source to use in a ref or possibly even removed flat out (since the information involved is referring to people who are alive, our rules about the biographies of living people would apply). Unfortunately, it happens a lot around here, particularly on articles for lesser known films like this one. I have a ton of animated films aimed at kids and fairly obscure non-American films on my watchlist, despite having never seen most of them, because they tend to draw these kinds of problem edits. Personally, my focus here tends to be more on the text/writing end of things than finding sources for things. Between that and my intermittent internet access, I often miss stuff. That's just the nature of the collaborative process. I'll go take a look at the article again right now and refresh my memory on the Elwes and Madsen info. In the meantime, I'm pretty sure I have a link near the bottom of my userpage to the film project's resource guide. You might find something there that will help with your efforts.
