Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Alain100. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Stéphane Tétreault, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.Rosguill talk 20:29, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Stéphane Tétreault

Hello, Alain100. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Stéphane Tétreault".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Hello Rosguill. I do not receive any direct or indirect compensation for editing Stéphane Tétreault. There is no conflict of interest as I am not gaining any revenues from editing Stéphane Tétreault. I am doing my best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies. If the issue could be remove, I would be appreciated. Thank you. Alain100 (talk) 15:04, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello User:Rosguill. As I did not received a response on my last talk, I am reaching to you again to get some clarification. As I have been using Wikipedia for many years to learn about different subjects, I have a hard time understanding what is wrong with Stéphane Tétreault page. There is nothing on that page that is for financial gain from this artist and in any way generating money for myself. That page is strictly as information about Stéphane Tétreault history. If at all possible, I would really like these issues to be removed. Thank you and I hape to hear from you soon. (Alain100 (talk) 15:51, 21 January 2021 (UTC))[reply]

Can you clarify how you came by the photo File:Stéphane Tétreault.jpg, which you have claimed as your own work? signed, Rosguill talk 16:13, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is a photo that I took from Stéphane when he offered a performance at the Dome with the London Philhamonic. I was fortunate to be at the concert with him (Alain100 (talk) 23:05, 21 January 2021 (UTC)).[reply]

Hello User:Rosguill. Not sure if this answered your question but it would be nice to get a feedback. As I said, I do not have financial gain updating the page . I do not use the page to promote or make money in any way. To the best of my knowledge, this page is streat forword giving information and biographical facts about this artist. Looking forward to hearring from you. Thank you (Alain100 (talk) 20:55, 24 January 2021 (UTC))[reply]

Ok, that satisfies my concern about COI at this time. The article as written still comes off as a bit promotional, and could be improved by more neutral wording (as well as a general expansion of biographical content). Additionally, please note that the awards section should not have external hyperlinks (for more info on external link guidelines, see WP:EL). signed, Rosguill talk 21:01, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok,thank you! I will take your recommendations to improve the page. I have been a great fan and supporter of Wikipedia but to write article is a bit confusion to me. Thanks again for your help and understanding. (Alain100 (talk) 21:15, 24 January 2021 (UTC)).[reply]
No worries, writing an article from scratch is one of the most challenging things to do on Wikipedia. I'm going to add another section below with additional useful links for finding your way around the site. Feel free to reach out to me or to raise a question at the teahouse if you have any further questions. signed, Rosguill talk 21:18, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
