Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hi. I just noticed your message at the Christianity Portal talk page. It's good to see that you're interested - thanks for your input! You're right - so far, the process for choosing images is an informal one, since the portal is still brand new. If you want to suggest a picture, place a link to it on the talk page and we will go from there.

As an aside, I would strongly recommend that you get a user account - one advantage is that you can monitor changes to all the pages you choose to place on your "watchlist" - that's how I found out about your message. I welcome any ideas to expand the portal and to suggest changes. Feel free to leave me a message if you need anything.

Cheers! Brisvegas 05:48, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the sentiment. I actually do have an account for those times one is mandated, but prefer to contribute anonymously for the most part. 72.131.44.247 06:00, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
Although anonymous IP editing is a great privilege, it would be a kindness to your fellow editors if you used your anonymous account (anonymous userID) for as much of your editing as you can manage. Many editors focus special attention on anonymous IP edits due to the high proportion of vandalism associated with them. By contrast, a UserID, even though it can be as anonymous as an IP address, shows continuity and saves much effort for your colleagues. In fact a UserID is even more anonymous than an IP address because one can look up an IP address and get clues. Hu 02:48, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
I appreciate that and am also quite familiar with how IP addresses function on the Internet. I prefer to have my contributions stand on their own merit, rather than be judged based on perceived social standing and affiliation. Thanks! 72.131.44.247 05:42, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

Hullo. As I pointed out in my "move" note, the incident is referred to as the "Bay View Tragedy" almost overwhelmingly, with the notable exception of its presentation by labor-interest groups and websites. WP:NPOV dictates that we have to present topics from a neutral perspective. This means that we don't let special interest groups cast how WP covers issues, including, in this case, with the naming of an article. I have no problem including a reference to the incident as the "Bay View Massacre" within the article, so long as its inclusion references the fact that it is almost exclusively within labor-interest circles that it is so called.

To address the issue of whether or not I should be editing the article before the questions about its non-copyvio status are answered... If there's a legitimate copyvio concern, the information should be either heavily edited to remove the potentially copyrighted material, or removed completely. Leaving copyright violations sitting around on WP while waiting for potential copyright violators to respond to questions about the © status of the information is not the correct way to deal with potential plagiarism or © infringement. That, at least, is my understanding of WP:COPY. Cheers, Tomertalk 00:32, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

BTW...thanks for fixing up Bay View, Wisconsin...it pretty clearly needed help.  :-p Tomertalk 00:38, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

DSHA

Hey, stop reverting the edits to the DSHA page. Also, when removing material from pages, please talk about it on the talk page or people don't understand why you removed it and it will be considered as childish vandalism. 69.210.102.219 14:15, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

By DSHA I'm guessing you're referring to Divine Savior Holy Angels High School? I'm not the only one reverting your claims (which many others have deemed to be vandalism) about the school being "a full-day daycare for girls in grade 9-12... [with] token 'college prep' courses that keep girls aged 14 to 18 busy all day." [1] There is already a discussion on the article's talk page explaining this. If you want the addition to remain you will need to cite reliable sources. To be blunt, I believe your message to be more of a troll than an honest query. 72.131.44.247 17:20, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry

Sorry, there have been alot of page blanking vandals, and doing popup revert patrol I saw a large body of text deleted, so I assumed it was vandalism. Always a few casualties while reverting vandalism. Thanks for letting me know either way. Danl 19:08, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

No problem... I'll revert the edit and remove the copyvio again. Take care! 72.131.44.247 19:21, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Re:

Thanks for the heads up, could you provide specific links?--digital_me(TalkˑContribs) 17:47, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Sure.. I already tagged the articles for speedy deletion based on copyvio, but here's a list.

North Prairie

Of course it is fair use to use excerpts from an article with citation. Please read Fair Use and restore the article. David Traver 13:25, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

I disagree that copying multiple paragraphs to be used inline in the article is fair use. If it were directly promotional towards the source it was taken from, a review of the source, parody, brief quotes, or needed for academic critique, my opinion would differ. I won't restore the text but I have taken the time to rewrite the affected portions, which I hope you will find suitable. Take care! 72.131.44.247 18:47, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Well done! David Traver 22:20, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Milwaukee School of Engineering

Thanks for helping to make the article on MSOE as biased as possible by removing student opinions!

Hello.. Wikipedia is not the place for personal commentary and grandstanding. Please see WP:NOT and WP:NPOV for a fuller explanation. 72.131.44.247 02:49, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

The comments on the article focus on important issues revolving around MSOE and are frequently discussed by students. Are you going to tell me that the cost of tuition for a school is not something that should be looked at before going there? Don't bother editing articles unless you have something to contribute. Removing important information and widely held beliefs from articles does not improve them or Wikipedia as a whole.

By all means, please source! Your comment that I should not "bother editing articles unless you have something to contribute" is completely uncalled for. I could easily point out that the majority of you contributions mirror that statement. 72.131.44.247 03:11, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
(Please see Talk:Milwaukee School of Engineering#Kent Peterson Censorship and Talk:Milwaukee School of Engineering#Criticisms threads for later discussions.) 72.131.44.247 04:29, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Sheboygan, Wisconsin

I’ve responded to your message on my talk page. Please see there for my rationale for including the same citations in multiple articles. Thanks. --Rob Kennedy 19:31, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Infobox on laird

G'day. Thankyou for your fixing of the infobox on Melvin R. Laird (however minor it was). I couldn't see where the fault was but you spotted it. Good work! Cheers. Jpe|ob 06:05, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome.. I had noticed a missing closing bracket for one of the items which threw off parsing. Take care! 72.131.44.247 06:13, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Actually, I can't find the information right now online, but I'm fairly certain that MSOE did have a football team, and that they won most of their games. In fact, I believe the proper trivia should be "MSOE is the only school who remains undefeated against Notre Dame in football." I just can't verify it for now. Lets keep looking b/c its definitely something interesting to note in the article. Cheers, PaddyM 19:28, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Will do! I had done a preliminary Google search before, but couldn't come up with anything pertinent. 72.131.44.247 21:13, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Preble High School

In all seriousness, stop editing the Green Bay Preble site. It is MR. WAGNER, NOT doctor.

Hello, I would take more stock in the statement if the article for Preble High School was not being vandalized on a daily basis. Your past vandalism does not strengthen your position as a trusted source either... as I have stated in my edit summary, the school district website, school profile, and a google search all agree that the principal's proper title is "Dr." If you have a reliable sources that state otherwise, please present them. Regards. 72.131.44.247 03:06, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Just to add, I have researched and expanded the article from its status as a short stub, providing proper references for all datum... it is my hope that persistent vandal(s) might see some value in this, and ultimately work towards improvment. 72.131.44.247 06:22, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

The thing is, I go to the school, what exactly is the man a doctor OF? He never completed his degree, he just forces the title on his students. Leave it at Mr. Besides, you spend way too much time editing something as trivial as a school wikipedia entry.

I echo the sentiment of other editor's vandalism warnings on your talk page(s) and ask that you please "consider improving rather than damaging the hard work of others." 72.131.44.247 18:42, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Golda Meir Library‎

Please don't delet contents from UWM page. As for Golda Meir Library. If you think its contents are similar to those in UWM, then you can contribute by changing it. The library is not related to the school. It is only named after Golda Meir. Epanther 19:56, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Responce on your talk page, where I initiated this converstaion. Thanks! 72.131.44.247 20:01, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

I made further changes on the UWM page. The two don't look the same now. I don't think Moda Meir school is worth mentioning at a University's library page. Please don't add. Thanks. Epanther 20:35, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Follow-up on user's talk page where I initiated this conversation. 72.131.44.247 23:34, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

The UWM library is related only with Golda Meir. And your shcool is only related with Golda Meir, too. UWM library and the elementory school is not related at all. Your previous addition doesn't fit into the article. Epanther 15:06, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
