Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Tax Day. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. TJRC (talk) 02:15, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You are posting lies. Like the other states mentioned, Connecticut residents also send their tax returns to Andover, Massachusetts. Why do you insist on saying Connecticut is not included in those states? 2601:283:8301:820:CE1F:7BA8:CAB8:5AF (talk) 04:46, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to make a constructive editorial change to the article, you can do so (subject to including a citation to a reliable source, of course). What you cannot do is add chatty comments to other editors ("and why are we forgetting Connecticut, whose residents also have their taxes delayed if April 15 falls on Patriot's Day?"). You can have those discussions on the talk page. TJRC (talk) 15:24, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you hate Connecticut? It was the fifth state to ratify the Constitution.
I'll have to go through my old tax returns and find one that shows it is sent to Andover. Where do you want me to send the copy of the tax return? 2601:283:8301:820:CE1F:7BA8:CAB8:5AF (talk) 04:50, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The JFK quote is very famous. It can be found in number of sources. You seem like an intelligent person, I'm surprised you haven't encountered it before. (Try Paul Boller's 1981 book, "Presidential Anecdotes." I think that is one of the many books where I have seen it.) Anyway, the standard for publishing a history book is, if something can be found in at least three different independent sources, it is considered common knowledge and doesn't need to be cited.
As for the information on Jim Crow laws, why did you change that? I did cite that information when I made that change. As most people who have studied Jim Crow know (and as I said in my revision), it is from C. Vann Woodward's 1955 ground-breaking book, "The Strange Career of Jim Crow." According to Oxford University Press, the book has been "Hailed as one of the top 100 nonfiction works of the twentieth century, 'The Strange Career of Jim Crow' has sold almost a million copies and remains, in the words of David Herbert Donald, 'a landmark in the history of American race relations.'" Again, if you are a historian, I'm sure you are familiar with it. As the book is almost seventy years old, it is well known and accepted as accurate. By reverting back to saying Jim Crow laws began in the 1870s, not only did you make the entry in wikipedia blatantly false, but you made it severely out of date. What's worse is, because Woodward's work is well-known, you have made that article on Tom Rice a laughing stock for any professional historian who may have stumbled upon it.
By the way, you said my revisions need a "reliable source." As I'm sure you know, Woodward was a Pulitzer Prize winning historian who taught at Yale. There is even an entry about him in wikipedia. Why don't you consider him a reliable source? (I'm sure you have your reasons.)

I found my tax form showing my tax return was supposed to go to Andover. Give me your address, and I will send it to you to prove that is where Connecticut tax returns go.

Two points, and please actually read them. You made this unsourced edit, which has nothing to do with taxes. As for your tax return, this has been explained to you. Read WP:RS. Your tax return is not a reliable source. This warning stands. Sundayclose (talk) 01:04, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please look at Episode No. 7 on this page of IMDB. I didn't make it up. I know I saw it three times when i was a kid.

Once again and for the last time, READ WP:Reliable sources. Your personal observations are not a reliable source. And IMDb is not a reliable source. You are on the fast track to losing your editing privileges. Sundayclose (talk) 13:35, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
