Further to this good faith edit you made on the 2019 Canadian federal election article page in the main namespace, in consultation with my fellow editor MikkelJSmith, the edit has been reverted on the rationale that Elizabeth May was leader during the quoted federal election campaign. We believe this usage of the literary present to be broadly consistent with the WP:MOS; however, you are most welcome to refer us to the applicable style guidelines in the Wikipedia Manual of Style (Wikipedia MoS) if there is something that says we should not refer to the name of the leader of a political party in describing said political party's involvement in an event or circumstance.
