Rivera was born on April 19, 1992. Reportedly a Filipino American,^[1] she was born in the Philippines and then moved to the United States later in life.^[2] In the U.S., she worked as a salesperson of a cellphone store.^[2]

Rivera's career as a social media personality took of when her Petra Mahalimuyak videos on YouTube became viral in 2012. According to Rivera, she created the videos merely to entertain herself as she found herself growing bored in Las Vegas, where she moved at the age of 18 and was unable to gamble.^[2] Her videos consist of how-tos as well as of celebrities
