Mushtaque Choudhary (Urdu: مشتاق چودھری) was a revered Television Producer well known for directing comic plays like Sheeda Talli, Shab Daig and Haveli etc. He also produced dozens of other Urdu and Punjabi drama series and serials for state-owned Pakistan Television and private TV channels. In addition to that he also produced many single plays, songs, music videos, magazine programs, Qawwalis, talk shows, children programs, documentaries and high profile interviews. Early Life and Education: Mushtaque Choudhary was born on 13th December 1941 in a small village Ganja (گنجہ), near Lalamusa, District Gujrat, in British India. He was the only son of his parents. He belonged to a feudal Gujjar family. He was raised with special care and support. He got his early education from his village and completed his secondary school education from Zamindar High School Gujrat city. He then got Bachelor of Arts degree from Zamindar College.
He moved to Lahore for further education and got admission in Masters of Arts in History from Punjab University. He also passed MA English from the same University.
Career:
Mushtaque Choudhary started his career with a job of English teacher in a private school at Karachi. Then he shifted back to Lahore and continued teaching profession at Islamia College.
He joined Pakistan Television in 1975 as a Duty Officer. Then he was elevated to the post of Transmission Controller. He had a creative mind and passion to work for Television programs. He changed his field by moving to Programs department as an Assistant Producer. He assisted some producers. His prominent work can be considered with veteran TV Producer Rashid Dar. Mushtaque Choudhary assisted Rashid Dar in his most popular drama series like Sona Chandi (سونا چاندی), Andhera Ujala (اندھیرا اجالا) and Alif Noon (الف نون).He was promoted as a Producer in 1987 and he worked in the same position till 2002.

Retirement and Death:
Mushtaue Choudhary was retired from PTV Lahore in 2002. After retirement he worked for certain projects with private television organizations. He shifted to his native town Lalamusa in 2007. He died of a heart attack on 22nd April 2017. He was laid to rest in his family graveyard of Village Ganja. He left behind a widow with three children; two daughters and a son.
