Headquartered in New Taipei City, Taiwan with distribution centers in more than 50 different countries, Weintek is a company that specializes in the development of HMIs (Human Machine Interface), IIoT solutions, and HMI-based solutions that are UL and CE compliant.

History

1995 to 1999

Weintek (also referred to as Weintek Labs) was founded in 1995. [1]The company released its first products the MT200, MT250D and MT300 under the product line "EasyView" in 1996. The MT200 was equipped with a 5.7" monochrome display and an 8-bit processor while the MT250D and MT300 boasted a much larger 9.4" display. Each product was programmed using an IDE developed by Weintek Labs called EasyBuilder 200 and EasyBuilder 300 respectively.

In 1999, Weintek Labs released the MT500 series. MT500 models could now display up-to 256 colors and the 8-bit processor used in the MT300 series was replaced with a newer, faster 32-bit RISC CPU. Coinciding with this development was the release of EasyBuilder 500 an IDE that can be described as the predecessor of the software produced by Weintek Labs today.

2000 to 2010

In 2005, Weintek Labs released the MT600 series under the product line "Open HMI". The MT600 series supported Windows CE making them Weintek's first line of IPCs (Industrial PCs). This series was succeeded by the MT600X and MT8000X in 2008 which supported both Windows CE and Windows XP Embedded. In 2010, the company released its first VPN client which allowed an individual to access a remote HMI using a Windows application called EasyAccess 1.0.

2010 to 2022

During this period, the HMIs produced by Weintek Labs were released under product lines denoted by the prefix or suffix of the product. The rugged eMT series was released in 2012 along with EasyBuilder Pro, the first iteration of the IDE that is still used today. [2]In 2013 the company released the mTV series and iE series. The MT8103iE being their first HMI with built-in Wi-Fi. [3]A year later, Weintek Labs began using AWS servers for their VPN client which was renamed EasyAccess 2.0. [4][5]The cMT product line was released in 2017. [6]This series included several models that could be equipped with an optional CODESYS soft PLC and to coincide with this development was the introduction of the iR series remote IO modules. The cMT series was succeeded by the cMT-X series in 2019, but its presence within the market is ongoing.
