Lee Matthews previously known as Lee Mulhern and Lee.M (born on 12 June 1988) is a singer/songwriter from Ireland. On 21 Oct 2013, he released his official single "Sadie's Got Her New Dress On" independently, being cover of a bluegrass hit and announcing his intention to continue as a country music singer. He followed that up by releasing "That Country Girl".

Starting age 8, Lee Mulhern (his birth name) had performed as a child star prodigy covering pop and country songs on many Irish and UK radio and television shows, taking part in various local and international events and winning a great number of prizes throughout. At age 17, he had embarked on a series of music projects like Streetwize, Streetside and Access All Areas, in a bid to be launched as an "international boy band" made up of singers from various nationalities. After the boy band projects fell through, he quit these projects relaunching a solo music career adopting the name Lee.M. He released the demo single "Magnetic" as NXT-GEN, a electropop duo collaboration with Pete Doherty. He also some success in collaborating with Snoop Dogg in his joint single "Slow Motion" with upcoming artist J. Pearl. The release was credited to Lee.M & J. Pearl featuring Iyaz & Snoop Dogg.[1][2][3]

Beginnings as a child star Lee Mulhern was born in Omagh, Northern Ireland. He grew up in the County Tyrone town of Castlederg[1][4] and lived there until the age of 13; he later moved to County Donegal, Republic of Ireland. He started his career at age 7, making his first appearance on Irish television winning the top prize in Children At Heart.[2] He went on to sing live on the BBC for Children in Need appeal.

Aged 8, Lee released his first cassette album entitled Hey Good Looking a selection of pop, country and ballads. At age 9, he appeared on Hugo Duncan's BBC TV show Hugo and Friends as a child star.[5] At 10, he won top spot in an 'Esat Digifone' talent competition. In 1999, at age 11, Lee was chosen to represent Ireland at the World Championships for Performing Arts in Los Angeles, California. He travelled with 35 other Irish contestants to compete against 1500 hopefuls from around the world. He won a gold, a silver and two bronze medals.[6] His gold medal was for the song "I May Be Young", co-written by him and his mother Veronica, who was in Irish showbands in the 1980s.[4] The song "I May Be Young", later became used as a peace song, in particular with memorials of the attacks of September 11.[7] He won the silver as well during the same competition with his cover version of "The River" from Garth Brooks.

In 2001, at age 13, he participated in a Las Vegas New Year's Eve concert that included Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel and Neil Diamond.[6] He made television appearances on TV3, BBC, ITV, RTE.[8]

In 2002, he performed at the Buncrana Music Festival and also in many TV shows in Ireland and in the UK.[9]

On 6 September 2002 in New York, Lee joined Ronan Tynon of the Irish Tenors and a host of other American artists at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center for a concert to remember the victims of the September 11th attacks on New York. Lee also joined RTÉ's Gerry Ryan at Ground Zero on 9 September when he sang "Fields of Gold" at a special wreath-laying ceremony.[10][11]

Songs from this early period performed by Mulhern include most notably "I May Be Young", "The River", "Fields of Gold" and "Bright Eyes". At various times, he appeared on various stages with well-established artists like Daniel O'Donnell, Hugo Duncan, Brian Coll, Philomena Begley, Michael English.[5]

In 2004, he was the lead actor in the short film "Buy Rights" about shoppers rights in the UK. He also completed a one year acting course in performing arts in Northern Ireland's NW Institute of Performing Arts.[8]

Lee Mulhern studied at St Colman's Secondary School in Strabane with music studies at North West Regional College in Derry.[3]

Lee Mulhern in bands and formations

Streetwize

In 2005, Lee Mulhern joined the band Streetwize, billed as the world's first "global boyband", as one of its original members, following worldwide auditions.[12] Two of the original members of Streetwize project, Donal Skehan and Lee Hutton went on to form a 4-member boy/girl Irish band named Industry (2009-2010). Another Streetwize member, Jonathan Fagerlund is a successful solo singer in Sweden.

Streetwize (with the amended set-up of Lee Mulhern, Lee Hutton, Kyle Carpenter, Antonio Jones and Allan Cutler sang its signature song, a cover of Living in a Box's hit "Room in Your Heart" during the annual drive of the "Childline" charity in 2007 in Ireland.[13]

Streetside

After many member changes, Streetwize was reformed and renamed Stateside.[14] The main vocalists were Lee Mulhern and Venezuelan Antonio Jones, a young singer in a popular Latin American children's program Fuera de clase. Lee Mulhern left the band in August 2008 preferring a solo career.

Access All Areas

In 2009, Lee Mulhern became part of a 4-member boy band project called Access All Areas alongside former Stateside member, the Venezuelan Antonio Jones in addition to 2 new recruits, Mali-Michael McCalla, the UK X Factor Final 24 contestant from series 5 and another UK recruit Tom Pepper. McCalla was later replaced by the Irish/Welsh/Australian Brandon Kemeny. The band broke up in 2011.

In 2012, Lee Mulhern now adopting the stage name Lee.M joined forces with Pete Doherty previously the frontman of The Libertines and also a part of the indie musical project Babyshambles. The two formed the Irish electropop danse duo NXT-GEN (Next Generation), releasing an electrodance demo titled "Magnetic".

Other materials co-written as a result of Mulhern / Doherty collaboration included "Invincible', "FTMN", Painkillers" and "Rescue". Lee.M also engaged in a 2012 tour to promote his music.

Solo career as Lee.M and collaborations Lee.M collaborated with New York singer J Pearl as well as Iyaz and Snoop Dogg in his official debut single release in "Slow Motion" credited to Lee M & J Pearl featuring Iyaz and Snoop Dogg.[1][2][3][15] The opportunity for collaboration arose when Lee was spotted performing at a Kool and the Gang 60th birthday party in Orlando and was asked months later if he would be interested to do a track involving Snoop Dogg and Iyaz. The track was produced by Swiss producer David May and was on an international release with Strictly Rhythm label who has signed J. Pearl to its label. The music video was shot in Milan, Italy and Snoop Dogg parts in Los Angeles and is directed by renowned Italian music video director Claudio Zagarini.[3]

In early 2013, Lee was approached by several of the mentors of "Eurosong 2013" to be in the Irish competition for choosing the Irish entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 and he suggested "Magnetic". But due to his commitments with the launch of "Slow Motion" with his record label, Lee had to decline for this year.[16]

Solo career as Lee Matthews During visits to the United States in 2012-2013, Lee's love of country music was reignited, after he saw the upsurge of a new generation of young country singers as crossover pop stars with a country flavour. Changing his name to Lee Matthews, he started giving gigs with a country flavour. He explains his decision in an interview with the Strabane Chronicle:

In America I got a buzz from seeing the country scene explode with a new generation of young country artists making country cooler. When I got back to Ireland I was so excited to see that Derek Ryan and Nathan Carter were also making country cool again here [in Ireland]. It's such a buzz to be back on stage again singing great songs that people love and enjoy dancing to. The people in Ireland appreciate good country music and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The first couple of gigs I did this year people were coming up and thanking me and just talking country music, it’s great.[5]

Later on in 2013, he released "Sadie's Got Her New Dress On", a bluegrass classic by Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. Lee also released a music video that features Chloe Coyle.[17] Lee followed that up with "That Country Girl". On 8 February 2014, Matthews is launching a tour with a live band to promote his new country music career. In May 2014, he released a charity single in support of the Join Our Boys Trust in Ireland. The song "Love Shine a Light, is a cover of a Katrina and the Waves song, the UK entry and eventual winner of Eurovision Song Contest 1977.

Congo (area)

Image:AreasCulturais-Africa-Herskovits.jpg|thumb|right|300px|Historical cultural Congolese region of the African continent

Congo is a region in Central Africa inhabited by the Kongo people, in addition to some other ethnic groups. The region is considered the historical living space of the various Congolese people(s).

Historically

Congolian forests Historically, the region of the Congo was a vast geographical area of equatorial Africa located in the tropical wet forest of Central Africa called Congolian forests.

Kingdom of Kongo Image:KingdomKongo1711.png|thumb|right|200px|Span of rule of the Kingdom of Kongo around 1711

It also owes its name to the predominant ethnic group in the region, ruled by Kingdom of Kongo founded towards the end of the 14th century and extended from 1390 to 1914.

Although the span of rule of the kingdom varied, in its greatest extent, the Kingdom of Kongo reached from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Kwango River in the east, and from the Congo River in the north to the Kwanza River in the south. The kingdom largely existed from c. 1390 to 1891 as an independent state, and from 1891 to 1914 as a vassal state of the Kingdom of Portugal.

Congo Basin and the Congo River Image:River Congo.svg|right|thumb|right|200px|Congo River and present-day Congolese political borders

The Congo River, the main river in the area, flows through the region forming the Congo Basin.

Languages

Majority of the people of Congo spoke the Kikongo (the Kongo language), but other prominent languages spoken by significant portions of Congolese populations included Lingala, Tshiluba and Kiswahili.

European languages are also vastly spoken by the Congolese populations as lingua francas, most notably French owing to long-running colonial rule of the various areas of Congo by the French and Belgians. Some Congolese populations also speak Portuguese particularly in the Cabinda Province, earlier known as Portuguese Congo and presently an exclave of Angola.

The nowadays geographic region spans across:

Republic of the Congo File:Congo republic sm04.png|thumb|left|150px|Map of the Republic of the Congo Comprising former French Congo under French colony that continued from 1880 to 1960.

The French Congo was sometimes known as Gabon-Congo.[55] formally adding French Gabon in 1901 to the territory which was officially renamed Middle Congo (French: Moyen-Congo) in 1903. Temporarily divorced from Gabon in 1906, it was then reunited as French Equatorial Africa in 1910 in an attempt to emulate the relative success of French West Africa with territories of Chad, Oubangui-Chari (currently Central African Republic), French Congo, Gabon and French Cameroon.

With independence, the country was declared as People's Republic of the Congo from 1970 to 1991, and since then as Republic of the Congo. It is also commonly known as Congo-Brazzaville or just Congo.

Democratic Republic of the Congo File:Cg-map.png|thumb|left|150px|Map of Democratic Republic of Congo Comprising former Belgian Congo under Belgian colony.

Historically known as Congo Free State from 1885 to 1908, it became what is known as Belgian Congo from 1908 to 1960. In 1960 independence was declared with the country becoming known as Republic of the Congo (Léopoldville) or Congo-Léopoldville from 1960 to 1964.

Under the rule of Mobutu Sese Seko, the country was known as Zaire from 1965 to 1997, when name was officially changed to Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)

It is also commonly known as Congo-Kinshasa.

The Angolan exclave of Cabinda File:Cabinda map-fr.svg|thumb|left|150px|Cabinda Province Comprising formerly Portuguese Congo under Portuguese colony.

It was known locally as Tchiowa and is an exclave and province of Angola. Modern Cabinda is the result of a fusion of three kingdoms: N'Goyo, Loango and Kakongo. Cabinda is separated from the rest of Angola by a narrow strip of territory belonging to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which bounds the province on the south and the east.

Congolese nationalism and activism Some groupings advocate a return to one Congolese homeland on the basis of the historical kingdom and a common past. Very notably, the Bundu dia Kongo movement advocates reviving the kingdom through secession from Angola, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Gabon.

(I Wanna) Channing All Over Your Tatum

"(I Wanna) Channing All Over Your Tatum" is a novelty song by actors Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum featuring television host Jimmy Kimmel using Channing Tatum's name as an adult innuendo. A later music video was also made.

The original The original version of the song appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's special show on February 24-25, 2013 immediately after the 85th Academy Awards (2013). Kimmel's comedy writers wrote the original lyrics and Jamie Foxx went with the plan to surprise Channing during the Kimmel show special. Foxx went to play the piano with Guillermo, Kimmel's side-kick serving the drinks. Channing ended up grabbing the whole bottle sipping directly.

Foxx goes on to play the piano singing three verses with Kimmel adding two more. In between each verse, Channing makes funny and at times disparaging comments as a reaction trying to stop them. Kimmel in a self-deprecating manner says "I guess I didn't understand" adding "It just makes no sense". At the end, Channing made the finale "[channing] all over the piano".[59]

Foxx says about the skit: "We all pitched in [for the skit]. It's funny, that stuff. He's [Channing's] cool, too. He embraces it. A lot of times you don't see celebrities embracing silliness. It was a good time".

Music video After the immense response to the performance, Channing, Fox and Kimmel decided to spend the week-end at Jamie Foxx's place to work on the song and record it. Channing said he was so thrilled to do the music video. His catch phrase for the video was:

The music video was shot by Will Burke and it was released on Jasckhole Records, with official credits as Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum featuring Jimmy Kimmel. Channing says he was so thrilled to do the video in which he repeats several times the catch phrase:

She knows I'm causing havoc
Our love's so dramatic
She likes to sing into my mic
Because my mic is magic

The video commences with various women drooling over their favorite sex symbol Channing Tatum and chanting 'Channing, Channing, Channing'. Foxx and Tatum sing their verses on a beach. Clips of Foxx and Tatum rescuing women from bizarre situations and dancing are interspersed throughout the video. Various objects explode as an allusion to male sexual climax.

The song delivers a word of caution and advice:

Channing Tatum on the mic, I know you’re kind of confused
We be singing out my name, making sexual moves
But if you gonna go Channing then you better be warned
Going Channing on the Tatum makes the babies be born
Respect the name my momma gave me and don’t be no fool
You be smart before you Channing and also stay in school

Miley Cyrus, Olivia Munn and Gabourey Sidibe pitch in with additional materials appeared in the official music video. The video opens with Olivia Munn chanting Channing's name in her bedroom. She is soon supplanted by Precious star Gabourey Sidibe, who is also incanting the actor's name in her own bedroom. Jimmy Kimmel then goes on to rescue Myley Cyrus from under a vending machine so that she can sing her verse wearing a T-shirt saying Channing and holding a bag of candy bearing the actor's name. She also thanks Kimmel for saving her saying: "Thanks man, you just Channinged all over my Tatum".[60] Matt Damon also makes a cameo appearance "giving the middle finger" which is blurred by the "censor", alluding to the Kimmel regular "Unnecessary Censorship" feature.

The video also claims Channing Tatum "can do anything", with Tatum flying and skywriting his name as Foxx exclaims "Channing is the best!"[61]

Reaction The release of the music video on the official Jimmy Kimmel Live YouTube channel garnered big viewership exceeding 18.2 million views and prompted many tribute and lampoon videos by various fans online.

Also on a follow-up show on Kimmel, Channing commented: "Everyone is talking about it. (On the Today Show), Hoda Kotb|Hoda]] [Kotb] was like, 'Would you Hoda all over my Kotb?' I'm going to let ya'll play with that one or I'll get in trouble".
