Aaron Mahnke is an author and the creator, producer, and host of several podcasts, including the podcast Lore.
Career
While Mahnke honed his writing skills, he supported himself by running a design company.[1] He published his novel Consumed in 2014[2] and his novel Grave Suspicion in 2015.[3] His podcast Lore began as essays Mahnke wrote as giveaways to subscribers to his newsletter. Mahnke quickly found that the content worked better as a podcast, and he began releasing episodes of Lore in 2015. The show quickly found an audience, and within four months hosting the podcast became Mahnke's full-time job.[1][4]
In 2018, Mahnke created the podcast Cabinet of Curiosities, and he later started another podcast called Unobscured.[1]
Personal life
Mahnke was born and grew up in Illinois. His interest in the inexplicable and supernatural started with the TV shows Unsolved Mysteries and X-Files, and around the age of ten he began reading adventure stories and stories that focused on unusual events and bizarre phenomena. These stories inspired his ambition to become a writer. He now lives with his wife and children in Boston.[5][1]
