The pendulums are band who originated in Glasgow and comprise of Michael Hastings (guitar, vocals), Lavinia Blackwall (organ, harp, vocals, painting), Martin Beer (double bass, mandolin, vocals), James Chapman (percussion,trombone, vocals) and Solveig Askvik ( violin, vocals). Other members have included Shaun Dowse (synth, vocals) and John Wilson (violin, bodhran) the latter perhaps better known today as Frogpocket.
Formed in 2002 by Michael and Lavinia, The Pendulums have since played numurous gigs around Britain and have slowly built up a following playing at folk festivals, farm parties, and whathaveyous ! They released their first album entitled "Moon Mountain" in the autumn of 2006. This included old favourites such as "Village o' KIrkmichael", "Open up the door" and "Darkside of Dunoon", alongside new compositions such as "Aye, I, Eye" and "Moonbees". A forthcoming E.P is due for release with four new songs "Ted the candlestick maker", "New world nova", "Time song" and "Village lovely".
