Hi, my name is /Russ Lindquist. In addition to this wikipedia userpage,

I have the following web-presence: a personal website www.RussLindquist.info, a facebook account and a myspace account.

I have been editing wikipedia articles for years; but I only recently (FEB, 2010) joined as a user.

Perspective on Editing

I edit for accuracy and clarity. I am not a pedant; but when poor grammar (or word choice, et cetera) detracts significantly from the intelligibility of a communication - especially written - I readily act.

Likewise, I do not entirely begrudge abstraction (it is certainly popular in wikipedia); however, when weak or unnecessary associations detract from the point of the article, I have no qualms about removing words, sentences, even whole paragraphs. When I choose to edit, my aim is always to leave the article objectively better than I found it. In my opinion, to measure the 'goodness' of an article is to measure the extent to which the article is presented clearly, candidly, factually, unencumbered, and — above all — in a manner which is encyclopedic.

Creating Wikipedia Articles

So far, wikipedia has been expansive enough to cover any contributions that I have thought to make; so I simply polish, here and there, as things come up.
