John Bella

John Bella (Born John Robert Bella) was born at Newton Memorial Hospital in Newton, NJ. He is currently attending a high school in Birmingham Al, along with his bandmatesChris Zimmerman, Juan Diego Campos, and Tyler Bunn. John Is 15 years old and is the bass player in his high school band, The Killer Chinchillias (originally called the Fallout). John has been playing bass for about a year. He was originaly a keyboardist, but decided to become a bassist, an account that no one was looking for a keyboardist.

Style, Technique and Equipment

John usually plays his bass with a pick. He often uses effects durring his solos and guitar breaks, such as chorus and ocatave effects. He allways uses distortion or overdrive when playing. He uses a 2006 MIM Fender P-Bass in Brown Sunburst with a Tortoiseshell pickguard. He has a Toneworks AX3000B multieffects pedal board as well as a DigiTech Hot Head distortion pedal, Boss SD1 super overdrive pedal, Zakk Wylde Wah, and a vintage MXR Phase 90. He plays through a crate BT50 live, and a Fender Vibrolx Reverb in the studio. However, he hopes to purchase a Yorkville half stack soon. John plays differently than most bassists. He tends to play on the higher register and often plays double stops, instead of single notes when he is playing slow. His basslines often differ in scale mode, as opposed to the song he is playing, as to add in more interesting intervals.

Music

John often plays heavy metal, and many of its sub-generes, such as thrash metal, doom metal, progressive metal, and power metal. He also is a big fan of classic rock. He is most heavily influenced by the deceased Cliff Burton of Metalica (RIP). He is also influenced by John Wetton, formally from King Crimson, Jack Bruce from Cream, and Chris Squire of Yes.

Hopes for the future

John hopes to be in a ground-breaking metal band someday. He hopes that he will visit every Hard Rock Cafe in existance. He also hopes that he will be recognized for his unique, and powerful playing style.
