Sakhile Mahlangu (born 14 June 1985) is a South African Politician. Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) of Water and Sanitation, at Govan Mbeki Municipality, a Member of the Local Government Council[1]. He is a Member of the African National Congress (ANC). Mahlangu had previously been involved in Congress of South African Students (COSAS).

Early life, Education and Activism

Sakhile Mahlangu was born 14 June 1985, he was brought up in a working class family in Embalenhle in Secunda, Mpumalanga Province[2] . A longtime student activism..He joined the Congress of South African Students (COSAS) and the African National Congress Youth League (ANC Youth League) at the age of thirteen in 1998 [3] . In 2005, he graduated from Kusasalethu Comprehensive School. In 2007 He became the Provincial Chairperson of COSAS in Mpumalanga. In 2008 Mahlangu became a National Organiser at COSAS Chief Albert Luthuli House Headquarters, Johannesburg , Gauteng Province. Sakhile Mahlangu also served as Regional Executive Committee Member and the Regional Spokesperson of the ANC Youth League Gert Sibande Region. [4] Currently he is a Provincial Executive Committee Member of the ANC Youth League in Mpumalanga Province

He continued to study with the University of South Africa (UNISA).
