My name is Tom Rose and I'm a historical interpreter at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. I am also a volunteer at the Smith-McDowell House, and have nearly two years of experience as an Archival Assistant at the Rockefeller Archive Center in Sleepy Hollow, NY. I'm currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Cultural and Historical Interpretation Section of the National Association for Interpretation.

Some of the places I've lived include Croton-on-Hudson, NY, Mount Vernon, IA where I attended Cornell College, Staunton, Virginia, Iowa City, IA where I lived with the River City Housing Collective and audited graduate-level history courses at the University of Iowa, and Asheville, North Carolina.

I love to sing and have experience singing barbershop music, a cappella, international folk music, and with various SATB and queer choirs. I've attended and volunteered at a number of music and folklife festivals, including Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and the Red Wing Roots Music Festival.
