Sixx Seventeen Johnson (born July 3, 1978), better known by his stage name Sixx John is an American artist, songwriter, & producer. Success began in his early years when he was given the opportunity to write for Shaquille O'neal. Sixx's 1st placement was a 2001 collaboration with Shaq on the Pootie Tang movie soundtrack.

Soon after, Sixx penned Shaq's 2002 singles "Connected" featuring W.C. , & "In The Sun" featuring Common & Black Thought. This was the beginning of a solid resume for the San Fernando Valley (818) born musician, he continued his writing streak with 3 songs on Lil Zane's 2nd album "The Big Zane Theory", & appearing alongside Fabolous on Brian McKnight's 2003 album U-Turn which was certified gold less than 2 months after the release. McKnight took Sixx on a U.S. tour that same year, & the duo had multiple TV performances including Fox music festival & the legendary music show Soul Train. Sixx John created a strong buzz with his non-stop works that were in regular rotation on L.A. Radio Stations Power 106 & 100.3 the beat. Sixx John found himself in the same room working with legends such as George Clinton, Dr. Dre, Kenny "Babyface Edmonds, DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill) just to name a few. This, along with his constant radio play caught the attention of Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg.

A meeting then ensued to sign Sixx to Shady Records in 2004 however, that deal never transpired due to a bad contract that Sixx had signed 2 years prior & was unable to get cleared up in a timely fashion.

But there was a silver lining in the contract, a loophole if you will... This contract binded him as an artist releasing an album under another label, but it did not keep him from featuring on other albums, nor did it mention anything about producing. Quietly, Sixx John had been perfecting his craft as a producer for a few years.

He would get his first production placement on Bay Area emcee Bailey The Champ's single "Get To Know Ya" featuring 1/4 of Boys II Men, Shawn Stockman.

Sixx followed that up with a Paula Deanda song "Clap Ta This", & a Heather Headley ballad "I Didn't Mean To" both written by his long time friend Ne-Yo, & co-produced by Curtis "Sauce" Wilson.

Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park reached out to Sixx John for a feature on "There They Go", an alternative hip hop/rock song that appeared on Mike's Fort Minor The Rising Tied album in 2005.

The production continued for Sixx John as 2 more songs, "Girlfriend" & "Lonely" both appeared on the UK & Japan versions of Ne-Yo's debut album, In My Own Words (2006), critically and commercially successful, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States, and is certified platinum in the US, UK, Japan, Australia, and the single "So Sick", topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States.

He would end that year merging with HBO to score Katt Williams debut comedy special The Pimp Chronicles Vol. 1.

All of the afore mentioned took place in a 24 month span, while Sixx worked as Ne-Yo's tour DJ, plus appearing on BET's 106 & Park, MTV's TRL, The UK hit show Top Of The Pops, The Tyra Banks Show, and many others.

Sixx John made another production appearance on Ne-Yo's fourth studio album Libra Scale (2010), with the song "Know Your Name" this album reached number one in the UK R&B Singles and Albums Charts and number nine on the USA Billboard 200.

For the next few years Sixx John would put his focus back on TV/Film & Video Games, with major releases such as: "Saints Row The Third" "The Best Man Holiday" (2013), Tyler Perry's "Single Mom's Club" (2014), "The Nut Job" (2014), in (2015) Sixx inked a deal with Fox to be a songwriter on Seasons 2 & 3 of the the HIT TV show "Empire" . (2017) his music appears in theaters again with another hit kids film "The Emoji Movie" .

(2019) Sixx has 2 songs on Ne-Yo's 1st Christmas Album, Another Kind Of Christmas with "Just Ain't Christmas" & "Everyday Holiday" .

And we've gotten word that 2020 may be his most accomplished year yet, with a Netflix show in the works, music supervisor on a major film, & a documentary about his life.

Stay Tuned...........
