This is an episode list for the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1. The plot of Stargate SG-1 directly follows that of the 1994 Stargate film. All ten seasons of Stargate SG-1 are now available on DVD. Since Stargate SG-1's première on July 27, 1997, a total of 214 episodes were produced, with each season consisting of 22 episodes (except seasons 8-10 which consisted of only 20 episodes each). Stargate SG-1's finale episode premiered in the United Kingdom on the Sky One channel on March 13, 2007. The second half of season 10 returned in the United States on April 13, 2007 and concluded on June 22, 2007.

In the story of the film, an ancient artifact of alien design (the eponymous Stargate) is found in Giza, and is discovered to be capable of transportation across the galaxy. Maverick Egyptologist Daniel Jackson, Colonel Jack O'Neill and other recruits travel to the then-unnamed planet Abydos and free its people from an alien oppressor, Ra, who has used Stargates to transport human slaves to many worlds for thousands of years, posing as a god. O'Neill returns to Earth without the newly-married Jackson, and there the Stargate program is presumably shut down.[1] The plot of Stargate SG-1 begins roughly one year after the events of Stargate.[2]
