BlueWave Communications Ltd is a provider of ISP and 4G services to business and consumers. They specialise in 4G broadband, leased lines, and rural broadband.

History

BlueWave Communications was founded in 2007 by Stuart Baggs to try and shake up the telecommunications market on the Isle of Man by providing broadband without the need of a landline to consumers and businesses alike.

In 2015, after Stuart's untimely passing at the age of 27, BlueWave was acquired by aql - a company where Stuart spent time as an intern whilst studying, learning his telecommunications trade and a friendship was struck with aql's CEO, Adam Beaumont.

Since the purchase of BlueWave, the company has been ran by Directors Matthew Sayle and Ryan Gilmour with it's most notable achievement in 2018, where BlueWave Communications was awarded it's full telecommunications licence by the Communications Commission. [1]

Operations

BlueWave Communications operates a 4G service, home broadband, rural broadband, business broadband, and leased line services on the Isle of Man with the support of aql's technical department.

The most notable part of their operations is the 4G service running on the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company vessel, the Ben-My-Chree, and the longest 5GHz link on the Isle of Man of over 15 miles.
