Siobhan Grealy - former sub principal flute London Symphony Orchestra Siobhan began playing the flute at the age of 11 & quickly decided it was all she wanted to do with her life. She studied at The Royal College of Music with Graham Mayer & went on to Post Graduate studies at The Royal Academy of Music where she studied with William Bennett. During her time as a student she won prizes and awards at both the RCM & RAM as well as awards from the Countess of Munster Trust, The Ian Fleming Charitable Trust, The Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, she gave her debut at The Purcell Room as a Maisie Lewis Young Concert Artis & received reviews from The Sunday Times describing her as an artist with Sparkling Intensity for her performance in the ...... She was a finalist and prize winner in the Royal Overseas League Young Artist Competition, The Lombard & Ulster Young Artist Competition, Shell Young Artists Concert Series & established herself as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the UK with piano as well as Harp as part of The Wakeford Ensemble. As an orchestral artist Siobhan was a member of The London Symphony Orchestra for several years, touring the world & working with illustrious musicians & conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Bernard Haitink, Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Harding, Sir Colin Davis, Nicola Benedetti, Andrew Marriner & Adam Walker appearing in the Barbican, the Proms, Musikverein, Chicago, Concertgebeouw, Siobhan has also appeared with the The London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philharmonia Orchestra, The BBC Symphony Orchestra, The Academy of St Martins in the Field, The Orchestra of Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Siobhan is a professor of Flute & Piccolo at Trinity Laban Conservatoire as well as being a director of the Social Enterprise CIC company Dunbar Music School, providing instrumental lessons in Dunbar, East Lothian. Siobhan also works in session orchestras in London & can be heard on the sound tracks for many movies including Harry Potter 7, the Lord of the Rings 2 & 3, The Golden Compass, How to Train your Dragon 2, Kung Fu Panda 3, Interstellar, Dr Strange, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Brave
