Rock'n Rebels play a morbid hybrid of 50's rockabilly fused with 80's punk rock hailing from Moncton, New Brunswick. Formed in the summer of 1994, Rock'n Rebels came together out of 2 defunct bands. Joey (Neptune) Hicks & (Tombstone) Troy LeBlanc who had previously been playing in the band General Lee, joined forces with Steph Babin & (Philthy) Phil Howe had been playing in the band Kreuzigen.

Band History

Early Years

The (Almighty) Rock'n Rebels, (as they were known as at the time) played a series of local shows with bands such as Sour Grapes, The Ditchpigs, The Rumors, The Mentally Ill and various others. Before releasing their debut release "Free Ride" in the summer of 1996. This was a collection of sloppy, fast-paced 3 chord wonders which was recorded by Rob Michaud and was limited to 50 copies on cassette tape. After another year of local shows and opening up for Montreal's Ripcordz it was time for a new album. In 1997 the boys hooked up with Rick White to record their second outing "Shaggin Wagon 509" but the band broke up before its release in spring of 1998.

Resurrected Rebels

Fast forward to 2004, Rock'n Rebels decide to finally release "Shaggin Wagon 509" to the masses at what was meant to be a one-time reunion show. After a few months of relearning all the songs the boys decided to write one new track "I Bury The Living" for that show. The show goes off with great success and it just feels right to the Rebels, so they decide to give it another go as a full on serious band.

Revamping their sound from hardcore punk rock to a hybrid of rockabilly & punk, Rock'n Rebels release their 3rd release, Nocturnal Hearts, which was recorded by Jeremy "Jerms" O'Neill( in spring of 2007). With The Addition of the upright the Rebels have really grown into their sound. Four years after playing their reunion show, Rock'n Rebels are still going strong playing throughout the Atlantic provinces. Helming the new album will be "DJ Gravey" Kyle McDonald. Recording has begun in June of 2009 and will contain 10 new songs from the kings of east coast punkabilly. Keep your eyes peeled for a split 7" with Montreal's The Brains which will feature 2 revamped Rebel's tunes as well as one new one.
