Fieldglass is a Vendor Management System (VMS) provider. The Fieldglass VMS is a Software-as-a-Service-based technology platform used to procure and manage the non-employee workforce, including contingent workers and services such as Statement of Work (SOW) projects, offshore labor and independent contractors.

Background

Fieldglass was founded by current CEO Jai Shekhawat in 1999[2]. At the end of 2012, Fieldglass had 261 employees located between its headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, and additional offices in Naperville, Illinois; Mumbai, India; London, England; Sydney, Australia; and other remote offices worldwide [3]. Fieldglass is currently used in 78 countries, available in 15 languages and accessed by nearly 20,000 suppliers. Fieldglass is a member of the Sourcing Interests Group and Illinois Technology Association.

In September 2010 Fieldglass received a significant investment from Madison Dearborn Partners [4]. At the time Fieldglass was valued at more than $220 million[5]. Madison Dearborn Partners’ portfolio includes CDW, MetroPCS and Univision[6].

In the 2012 Staffing Industry Analysts VMS and MSP Supplier Landscape, Fieldglass was named the largest VMS provider, managing $21.5 billion in annual spend through its solution during 2011 [7]. In January 2013, Fieldglass announced that in 2012 the company experienced a 30+ percent year-over-year revenue increase and recorded its seventh consecutive year of profitability[8].
