Real Vision is an online financial media company. The service, founded by Raoul Pal, Grant Williams, Remi Tetot and Damien Horner in 2014, provides investment and financial insight, including global macro financial trends from world-renowned investors[1].

The company offers a subscription-based model for access to ad-free financial information through long-form content. Real Vision subscribers include but are not limited to hedge fund managers, investment brokers and sole traders, with a global audience in more than 100 countries.

Real Vision is available for viewers worldwide through an online portal with both streaming and download features. The platform features financial content with more than 225 contributors such as Kyle Bass, Mark Yusko, Jim Rogers, John Mauldin[2], Tim Ferriss[3], John Burbank[4], Jim Rogers, Harry Markopolos, Hugh Hendry, Dr Pippa Malmgren, Michael Lewitt[5] and many more. Content topics range from investor opinions on Bitcoin and gold to current economic markets and trade ideas.    

The company headquarters are in Grand Cayman within the Cayman Islands and forms part of the Cayman Enterprise City initiative[6].

Real Vision TV is endorsed by the CFA Institute[7] of Chartered Financial Analyst, the Certified Financial Planner Board (CFP) and CISI Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider and has formed partnerships with KPMG, the University of Cambridge and IG as a content-provider.

Origins

Real Vision was launched on September 8, 2014 by Raoul Pal[8], Grant Williams[9], Remi Tetot and Damian Horner[10]. The company size has expanded from 6 staff to over 40 since launch, with staff across the US, Europe, Asia and Caribbean. Real Vision Group was established within the Cayman Islands, as part of the Cayman Enterprise City initiative.

In addition to co-founding Real Vision, Raoul Pal3 is the writer of elite macroeconomic and investment research service The Global Macro Investor[11], a Goldman Sachs alumni and former fund manager of GLG Partners Global Macro Hedge Fund. Raoul Pal provides global macro insight to various podcasts and media outlets, including CNBC[12] and Yahoo Finance[13].

Grant Williams is the portfolio and strategy advisor to Vulpes Investment Management[14] in Singapore and founder and publisher ‘Things That Make You Go Hmmm...’.

Remi Tetot is the analyst and strategist for Global Macro Investor. Damien Horner is the Brand Development Director of Hachette Book Group, and left Real Vision in 2015 to concentrate on his role at Hachette in London.

Products

Real Vision launched its first product in 2014, Real Vision TV, offering on-demand video content in the form of interviews, presentations and Q&A sessions.

Content is uploaded to the site daily and over 500 videos from 200 contributors are currently available. Content features topics across all asset classes and contributors including investors, analysts, investment strategists and geopolitical analysts.

Real Vision TV offers a paid subscription for full access to the platform. Registered CFA members and students are able to access the platform at a discounted fee. The content on Real Vision TV is free from advertising and sponsorship.

Platform and Features

Real Vision TV video content ranges from 20-minute to hour-long pieces. The content is consumed via video streaming, and audio or video download.

In 2016 transcript download and an iOS app[15] were launched as additional features.

Accreditations

In 2015, Real Vision was fully endorsed by the CFA Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst, an international financial professional credential program, as an accreditation avenue for Continuing Education credits for its members.

In 2016, it gained endorsements from the CFA Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst[7], the Certified Financial Planner Board (CFP) and CISI Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment[16] as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider[17].

In early 2016, Real Vision TV was selected to judge The Economist’s Which MBA? case competition[18]. The top three winners’ videos were aired on Real Vision TV.

In late 2016 Real Vision content partnered with Cambridge University in the United Kingdom to form part of the curriculum for Cambridge University Judge Business School MFin program.
