Guitariks - a music term that denotes words written specifically for the electric guitar or acoustic guitar. This term was invented by Richie Alp, (born-Richard H. Alpert) of the contemporary rock n' roll band, "Richie in the Alp", of San Francisco, California, USA in February, 2010. The term guitariks was coined during song writing session with Michael Gordon Fleming, lead songwriter for the San Francisco Americana band "The Barbary Coast Allstars". The first song that was referenced to this term was "Definitely, Maybe". "Definitely, Maybe" is a pop genre about a boy meets girl story. This song was the original idea of Richie Alp with guitariks contribution by Michael Gordon Fleming and written to be performed by "The Barbary Coast Allstars" at the bands weekly gig at Blondie's Bar in the Mission District of San Francosco.
