He descended from Nuer Jagei's Kong Muon Yoak family who are well known across unity state's Koch County. They lived in Koch ' s Nor Boor for Gaboor clan.

Kong Muon Yoak has Good blessed big family among their beloved Jagei ' s various families.

Riak is Nuer ethnically and speak Nilo sharan Nuer language.
