Ralph Eugene Brandt was born 1943 in a row home in Hunters Run, Pennsylvania. The row of houses was once the company housing for a local mining operation. Remember Tennessee Ernie Ford, I owe my soul to the company store? This was the company housing at one time.

His dad was in industrial maintenance at Adams Apple in Apsers, Pennsylvania his mom a sewing factory worker at C. H. Masland in Carlisle, PA and then at Bloughs in Mount Holly Springs, PA. Although his parents were not educated they had a love for study and passed that on to their family. He has three sisters, two older who are college graduates and retired teachers. Both went to college after he finished. He graduated from South Middleton Township Consolidated School now called the South Middleton School District at Boiling Springs, PA in 1961 and Shippensburg State College now Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania located at Shippensburg, PA where he majored in Mathematics. He done all of the class work for a Masters in Theology but has not written a thesis.

His career spanned over 50 years in technical roles including electronics design and assembly, computer programming, computer networking, telephone systems, and telecommunications. He was employed by Caterpillar, EDS and HP.

In the early 1980's he obtained a Radio Shack Color Computer and began writing. He wrote several novels which were unpublished until Kindle. All of his novels take possible situations and play out possible scenarios. He works with an overall subject but brings it down to the people and what is happening to them. Currently he has the following published works.

  • The First Family describes a vicious attack on the president's family and the terrible aftermath.
  • Kathy's Legs is an account of a young woman facing a life in a wheelchair and the people who work with her to bring her back to wholeness and her participation in that effort.
  • Nine Eleven Act Two is the follow-up attack on the United States by Islamic forces.
  • The Second World War is a novel based on the United States meeting the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941 in a sea battle North of Pearl. The course of the war is drastically changed. The novel fleshes out what many military men think would have been the outcome of that battle.
  • The Handshue Sect describes a cult gone array. It was inspired by the Waco Texas Branch Davidians. It is a play on one of the scenarios that concerned the ATF.
  • Denise, Karen, Jan, and Sandra are a series of interrelated stories and characters. They each encountered adversity and face decisions that are life changing. It is the people who make the story.
  • Alpha 4 explores vaccines. It takes a scenario and plays it out.
  • Hexagon begins with the development of a space station missile-defense system and what the nation and some of its citizens must sacrifice to bring this protective shield about.
  • Christy is an astronaut who is badly injured in space and the efforts that must be made to save her life.
  • Laura is a young girl who is diagnosed with cancer, has surgery to save her life, has concerns about that surgery and begins researching the diagnosis and treatment. That study results in a daunting realization.
  • The Night Sniper is loose in the city who has wounded many but not killed a single victim. When the sniper is finally caught the city takes a deep breath and then the following night the carnage continues.
  • Destructive Doctrines of the Twentieth Century is his only non-fiction work. It describes the various doctrines that have vexed the church and seem to continue that.
