  • Based Upon Gentlemen's agreement of Andhra Pradesh (1956) if the Chief Minister is from one region the other region should be given Dy Chief Ministership.This Practice Continued till 1973 with few governments as part of the Agreement.Later,the practice of appointing a deputy CM was discontinued.However Again in 2011 Deputy Chief Minister is Appointed.[1]
  • B. V. Subba Reddy was chosen as Deputy Chief Minister under P. V. Narasimha Rao in September 1971.However he resigned to his post to participate in the Jai Andhra movement in November 1972 and actively led.He then joined the ministry of Jalagam Vengala Rao as Deputy Chief Minister in December 1973. He died in this position on 7 June 1974 in Hyderabad.
