About Me

Pogobryan is a digital strategist living in NYC. Father of two young daughters. Personal interests include digital & social media, technology, financial services, LBGTQ rights, Israel, and progressive politics.

Early in my career, I did some consulting for a major spend-down foundation. I was in awe of the founder and the foundation's mission, and developed an interest in foundations, philanthropists, and philanthropy.

About 10 years ago, I worked at a major private equity firm (on ESG and public affairs); I was surprised that most of my family and many of my friends had never heard of the firm that owns many of the companies and brands they engage with daily. While working there, I learned about and came in contact with many major players in private equity and alternative assets that weren't as well known but had huge impacts on society and the economy. I always wanted to write a book about private equity companies and their leaders, but have never had the time.

About five years ago, a friend who is a regular contributor to Wiki asked me for some formatting help on a contribution. It occurred to me then that I could channel my interests into editing and contributing on Wikipedia rather than procrastinating a book, so I make sporadic contributions or edits when I have time.
