Who Is Walnut Girl?

In a small town, known as Armona, an abandoned train station stood for many years. The train staition was said to be haunted by a ghost, a poignant and pitiful creature. The ghost was that of a girl. She was aged around nine years old.

Her Story

The little girl seemed that the little girl and her friends had dared one another to go swim in a water hole naked. The girls giggled and enjoyed their swim. Their play attracted some boys that were playing nearby, who threatened to come in the water after the girls. Many of the girls scattered into a nearby walnut orchard, but one little girl stood in the water, too frightened to move. She ducked under the water to make the boys believe she had disappeared into the walnut orchard with the other girls, but sadly, she drowned. The pitiful spirit roamed the area for years. She was always seen where walnuts were sold or picked, so she became known as Walnut Girl.

Sightings of Walnut Girl

No male ever saw this ghostly spirit, but young girls around the age of nine claim to have seen the figure of a naked ghost girl. The ghost was seen at the train station during the Great Depression in the 1930's. Hoboes would frequently claim to have seen ghostly lights shining through the broken windows. Police would invesgigate the building, but would find nothing. They decided to take photographs of the building to prove their point, but they could not, because their compass was malfunctioning. It would not point north.

When the pictures were developed, there was signs of poor quality and there was in fact white spots and lights reflecting on the pictures. We were able to calculate the cause of these lights some 70 years later. They were in fact caused by energy radiating off this ghostly girl, so her presence was obviously there. There have no more sightings of this girl. Maybe her spirit has laid to rest...
