Frederick C. Leo is a journalist and television personality based in Germany and the United Kingdom.

Born in Berlin, Germany, Leo attended the John F. Kennedy School, Berlin, where he was editor of the school newspaper, before reading History at St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford.[1] [2] While at Oxford, he worked alonside homelessness campaigner Alex Kumar as the Charities Officer of his Junior Common Room, and captained the St Edmund Hall University Challenge team.[3]

Leo gained attention in the British press in his appearances in the early rounds of University Challenge through high point-scoring combined with the controversial use of casual hand gestures.[4][5]

Leo currently works as a political journalist based in Berlin, where he writes for Cicero (magazine).[6]
