Hi to everyone, my name is Anthony.

I have lived in the village of Newick, East Sussex for about 20 years. I have a wife and four children currently aged between 13 and 19, two boys two girls. This is relevant because my knowledge and involvement in village affirs springs directly from supporting them as parents do, in their education and activities. Currently, I am Chairman of the village hall management committee and a committee member of Newick Amateur Dramatic Society usually referred to as NADS Newick Amateur Dramatic Society and set carpenter for the Society as well. Until this summer 2007 I was also a Chairman of Governors of St Annes Special School, Lewes, East Sussex, until its closure.

I work for a specialist craft publishing house in several different roles, magazine editor, book author, photographer and project builder. Originally I started my career in London in 1972 learning to be a professional photographer, 14 years later I became a professional woodworker, then I entered publishing where I remain today.

My interest include a 1970 Landrover bought by my father and handed on to me, photography, enjoying walks in the coutryside, gardening, IT on my Mac, and more recently learning about creating a website. My children keep me busy and poor! However they are well regarded by everyone and very clever, my eldest daughter Lucy has has both acted and directed with the NADYS, the NADS Youth section and the others have also acted and helped in other roles with NADS. My wife who works in a senior role for a care charity is a bellydance teacher as well and has acted with NADS. As a family we all have artistic or practical skills. My wife is also involved with St Mary's Church, Newick where she helps run services. Wikipedia has proved extremely useful for research and I hope to add more information in particular about Newick but any other subjects which I have useful verifiable information to add to. However I am still very 'green' as an editor so other editors will need to be patient with me and please explain where I may have made errors making or correcting entries! Thankyou.
