Michael D. Sherman was born in Newark, New Jersey on February 14, 1957. Presently he resides in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Mr. Sherman's educational background includes receipt of a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers College in 1979 and the award of a Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University in 1983.

Mr. Sherman is best known for his legal work, as an attorney representing employers and insurers in worker compensation litigation. He is an active member of the Pennsylvania Self Insurers' Association, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and the Pittsburgh Human Resources Association. Since 1992 he has authored and presented educational seminars on behalf of Lorman Education Services Inc.

Presently, Attorney Sherman is writing a handbook for individuals involved in worker compensation system. He and his co-author, Charles Katz Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, anticipate completion of an initial manuscript for Matthew-Bender Publications, by September, 2006.
