nHancer is an advanced control panel and profile editor developed by Martin Korndörfer for NVIDIA graphics cards. nHancer provides a wider range of 3D settings most especially for games, thus it is generally used to improve the user's gaming experience. Compared to NVIDIA's default control panel, nHancer features more settings for users to work with. It is not only designed for experienced users, but for new users as well, since nHancer gives a brief but detailed description for each 3D setting. nHancer also offers compatibility settings for customization, such as Anti-aliasing compatibility and DirectX compatibility, making it a helpful tool for improving performance.
The current stable version is 2.5.7, released on October 11th, 2009.
How nHancer Works
Upon installation of nHancer, it immediately detects the user's custom NVIDIA profiles and imports them into its own profile storage, along with the specific 3D settings of every custom profile. If the user has recently changed drivers, nHancer automatically saves a backup of all the custom profiles from the previous driver. After the new driver has been installed, it then asks the user whether they would like to import the custom profiles from the previous driver to the new one, making it easier for users to maintain their desired specific 3D settings for their games.
nHancer works together with the NVIDIA Control Panel, meaning that whenever a user modifies a particular custom profile in nHancer, the changes are also saved in the NVIDIA Control Panel's 3D settings, therefore the user will not need to perform further modifications.
