Jacob Chamberlain (1835–1908) was an American doctor and missionary to India as part of the Reformed Church in America.

Chamberlain was born in 1835 in Sharon, Connecticut. He studied both medicine and theology. In 1859, Chamberlain joined the Arcot Mission of the Reformed Church in America, based in Arcot, Tamil Nadu, India. There, he founded two hospitals and set up several dispensaries. From 1873 to 1894, Chamberlain was chair of a committee for revising the Telugu Bible. Chamberlain created a Telugu hymnbook and created the first volume of a Bible dictionary. In 1878, Chamberlain was the first missioinary to become General Synod of the Reformed Church in America. Suffering from repeated illness, Chamberlain went back to live in the United States for ten years. There, he "inspired much missionary interest". In 1902, Chamberlain became the first Moderator of the General Assembly of the Synod of South India.[1]
