Procserve

Procserve (Procserve Holdings Limited.) is an eProcurement software company[1] and subsidiary of technology and management consulting company PA Consulting Group[2] . The company provide a cloud-based[3] eMarketplace which facilitates online transactions between buyers and sellers.

Customers Customers past and present include the UK Home Office[4] , The Crown Commercial Service , The Welsh Assembly Government , The Department of Education[5] , The Bank of England [6] , and the National Policing Improvement Agency[7] .

Technology Procserve’s Commerce Network (PCN) is a cloud-based-commerce solution which provides visibility and control of spend in organisations[8] and the creation of an end-to-end electronic paperless process [9]. 3.4 million transactions have been processed via the Procserve Commerce Network (PCN) on the network over the past five years (between 1999 and 2014)[10] .

The Procserve Commerce Network hosts[11] eMarketplaces including: buy4my, Government eMarketplace , xchangewales eTrading, xchangewales eTrading for Schools, Procurement for Housing eMarketplace and the National Police Procurement Hub. Procserve exceeded 3.4m transactions on the network between 2008 and 2013 [12].

Company Overview Procserve was founded in 2006 to support the UK Government's eCommerce strategy. The company currently provide managed services for the UK Government eMarketplace - Zanzibar[13] , the Welsh Assembley Government eMarketplace - xchangewales [14] and the National Police Procurement Hub [15] . The current CEO is Nigel Clifford [16] and The PA Consulting Group is the majority shareholder[17] .

Company History 2004: The UK Government commissioned a government efficiency review under Sir Peter Gershon [18]. 2005: The PA Consulting Group, with a consortium of technology partners, is commissioned to create a government eMarketplace in response to the findings of the Gershon Review. Zanzibar, an early eMarketplace provider, is formed[19] . 2006: Procserve was founded to manage Zanzibar . Veera Johnson was the first CEO[20] . 2007. The Department of Education commissions the OPEN eMarketplace (now buy4my) to be provided by Procserve. Impaq Business Solutions is acquired by Procserve[21]. 2008: The Welsh Government commissions xchangewales[22] . 2010: Jim Knox becomes CEO [23]. 2011: The National Police Improvement Agency commissions the National Police Procurement Hub, now managed by the Home Office[24] . 2012: Nigel Clifford becomes CEO. Procserve wins an innovation award from the Department of Work and Pensions for its "Low Value Procurement" solution[25]. 2013: Procserve processes over £1 billion of public sector transactions .
