Dastaan-e-Andalus (Urdu: داستانِ اندلس, lit. 'Tale of Andalusia') is an upcoming Pakistani period drama which has been put on hold since 2020 after its . The series is written by Ibrahim Khawar in collaboration with Hashim Nadeem; starring Ibrahim Khawar, Leen Abdulameer, and Alsarra Malik in the lead roles. The story is set in Islamic Spain (Al-Andalus) and tells the story of three individuals in Albayzin.
Dastan-e-Andalus has become a highly anticipated serial due to its unique setting and theme. It's teasers released in late 2020 received positive reviews from the critics and praise for cinematography, visuals and performances.
Plot
The story is set in Albayzin, a community in the Emirate of Granada during Al-Andalus or Spain under Islamic rule. Haaris (Ibrahim Khawar) falls in love with a girl in the Mahallah (neighborhood) named Sukaynah (Leen Abdulameer). He writes love letters to Sukaynah's house but is unaware of the fact that the letters are actually reaching Sara. Sara Garciyya (Alsarra Malik) is the tenant of Sukaynah's family who lives in the upper portion of their house with her aunt. Sara Garciyya begins to develop feelings for Haaris after reading his letters and eventually falls in love with him. Haaris is unaware of the reality of his one-sided love resulting in many misunderstandings.
Sara starts believing that Haaris has feelings for her whereas Sukaynah treats Haaris with love and compassion which makes Haaris think that Sukaynah has actually received his letters but refrains from mentioning anything in front of her out of shyness. Haaris receives special treatment from Sara as well and they develop a friendly bond although Haaris is unaware of Sara's love for him.
Later the Fall of Granada takes place and many Muslim inhabitants of Albayzin decide to migrate in order to flee persecution. Sukaynah's father who is a Qazi (judge) from Qurtubah (Cordoba), also decides to migrate. However, Sara and her mother are their tenants, they are forced to leave but they have nowhere to go. The tale further goes on to tell the story of Sara, Haaris and Sukaynah.

Reception
Early glimpses and teasers from the show were released to the public audience in March 2020 receiving positive reviews from the critics, along with a release date of May 2020.
It has be has been put on hold ever since the outbreak of the COVID Pandemic in March 2020.
On 27 June 2023, it was revealed that Sofia Vergara will be seen playing the role of a spy who will be a part of the Reconquista.
