Article Evaluation

Article 1: Ecotechnology

The overall content is relevant to the topic, explaining most aspects in detail. However, more points should be added. As an illustration, the explanation for each bullet point in the last paragraph should be explained and examples should be provided. This article will have a better quality if examples of Ecotechnology can be added. From my perspective, the origin of Ecotechnology should be moved to the beginning of the article instead of placing it at the end.

The tone of this article is mostly neutral. Nevertheless, identifying purposes of Ecotechnology as satisfying psychological needs may contain author's personal views and thus may lead readers to biases.

More references need to be added as more evidence is needed to construct the article.

Ps: A question is left on the talk page of this article.

Article 2: Energy flow (ecology)

The content of this article is relevant to the topic and explains the structure in which the energy flow in detail. The overall tone is neutral and does not drive me to any personal view or biases.

However, I think the author put too much emphasis on explaining the structure of the food chain, distracting me from focusing on the topic. More references should be added, as well. For example, references are needed when talking about the history of this topic.

Article 3: Ecological forecasting

This article is of great quality. The author identifies the topic in detail, with the significance and application of this topic. The overall tone is neutral, without driving audience to personal views or biases. Multiple references have been added to support evidence. The article has also been updated several times, with the latest version updated in 2017.

To help make this article better, an in-text citation should be added in the "Temperature" section when talks about past data. Moreover, history and development of this topic should be added since this article has not talked about the origin of the ecological forecasting.

Article 4: Red-crowned crane

As an encyclopedia, this article contains almost every biological and ecological aspect of a species including diet, migration, breeding and so on. Clear pictures have been included with figure legends. The article is well structured into separated sections and each section does not mingled with others. The tone is neutral, without drawing audience towards personal opinions. Cultural influences and histories in two nations- China and Japan- have also been described with appropriate references. The article has been updated by several wikipedians and the content is not out of date.

My advice is that basic stats should be added into the "Description" section to make them more obvious to audience. It took me a while to find the lifespan of this species because it is listed in the last sentence under the subtitle "Breeding".

Article 5: Ultrabithorax

This article contains brief description of the Ubx gene, including its location, function, mutations and other relevant topics. References come from reliable sources and the overall tone is neutral.

However, there are places that should be developed. In the "Structure" section, it would be more comprehensive if each section, the exons and elements, of the Ubx gene is labeled in the picture which shows the crystallographic structure of Ubx. Since not all audience are experts in this field, the article should explain more details.
