The Rees Algebra is a construction in commutative algebra which allows one to construct flat familes. Given a ring R and an ideal I in R, the Rees algebra of R with respect to I is the infinite sum ${\displaystyle \sum _{n=-\infty }^{\infty }I^{n}t^{-n}}$
