Foreword

anyway I'm bored so I'm gonna make an article on Element Animation's animated series, Villager News, 'cause I didn't find any pages about it. Will it be accepted? I don't know. Probably not. We'll see. Actual stuff that I'd put in the page is below this line of text. Please, feel free to give me suggestions or something like that on my talk page.

Villager News

Villager News is a satirical animated series produced by Element Animation, a popular YouTube Channel which, at the time of writing, has 4.43 million subscribers.[1] Episodes of Villager News usually contain an intro, then multiple 'stories/news segments', and finishing with a credits segment, where in more recent episodes, also features their Patrons from Patreon.

List of Episodes

At the time of writing (December 2022) there are 7 episodes of Villager News, with 2 'extras' to these episodes and 2 'shorts' (defined below),[2] which are displayed in the table below:

What I define a episode/extra/short as:

  • An episode is a main-series episode, and is usually at least 5 minutes long.
  • An extra might be a shorter episode which acts as an add-on to an episode, or just extra content altogether, completely different from a normal episode.
  • A short is a normal episode, but 60 seconds or less long.

Due the the scarce upload schedule of Element Animation, there are usually multi-month gaps between episodes, with the longest being approximately 43 months (May 2015 → December 2018).

Episode Plots

This section lists the plots of each episode, in the order of the table in the previous section.

(1) Villager News

The episode starts with the iconic intro, with the signs of the 3 villagers saying in order: 'Element Animation Presents', 'Villager News', 'I am holding a sign!', when Villager #4 (the former host of Villager News) begins the episode by saying 'Does my mustache look alright?'. The first story covered in the episode is a citizen littering, where a subsequent police chase is recorded from a traffic helicopter, which is made of other villagers. Villager #14 (the criminal) then runs over a pressure plate, which deploys several missiles, which then cause the helicopter to crash due to the shockwave. Villager #14 is later apprehended after he trips over stingers which were placed by the police. He was then sentenced to the Pit of Death (see Frequent Locations section below), where he was trapped for approximately 6 years, before being released in Villager News: WAR! Two other villagers are also shown in the Pit of Death. The episode ends with the 3 villagers who were singing the intro at the beginning holding there signs and moving around, with a credits and end card being played after.[3]

(2) Villager News 2

Link to episode on Youtube

The episode begins with the three villagers singing the intro, with the signs (in order shown) saying: 'Element Animation Presents', 'Villager News', 'I am still holding a sign!'. Two of the three villagers (Villager #19 and #20) are then fired by Villager Number 4, because they did not say 'Villager News 2', and the remaining villager acts like a cat, convincing Villager #4 to let him stay. The episode continues with Villager #4 saying the winning lottery 'numbers', while a UFO made of villagers attempts to abduct a house, but successfully abducts a cow. While this 'happens, a villager who celebrates winning the lottery by interrupting. In the background, a trebuchet of villagers fires at the UFO, but is then abducted as well. The first story is very brief, where Villager #4 says 'A villager has somehow enchanted himself, in my opinion, he's a witch! He should be burned!'. The villager who convinced Villager #4 to let him stay now holds a sign saying 'WE'RE BEING INVADED!', as a villager slides up the glass window of the studio. The villager attempts to tell Villager #4, but is brushed away. The villager is then abducted, and the episode ends with Villager #4 singing the outro. After this, the credit segment then plays.[4]

(2x) Testificate News (Villager News 2 Extra)

Link to episode on YouTube

The episode opens with Testificate #5 reporting on the situation, where many Testificates are being abducted. One Testificate attempts to boost morale of the 'village' by giving a short motivational sentence, before being abducted themself. Testificate Man arrives at the scene, and says 'shoo' to the UFO several times, to no avail. He is then abducted. A Testificate swings into the scene like Tarzan, but is abducted anyway. Testificate #5 (and the Cameraman, despite their invincibility) are then abducted by the UFO. The credits segment then plays.[5]

(3) Villager News 3

Link to episode on YouTube

The episode begins with 3 new(confirmation needed) villagers holding signs and singing the intro, holding signs which say (in order displayed): 'Element Animation Presents', 'Another video that makes no sense', 'Villager News 3'*. The main plot of the episode is that a 'crazed lunatic' has taken 2 citizens (Synonym for villager in this use) hostage. Villager #9 is reporting outside the scene, where a villager walks around the barrier tape which blocked the path, before turning around and saying 'Oh no! I'm trapped'. Armed police speak to the 'crazed lunatic' through a megaphone to 'put down the weapon' (They are currently holding a bread knife). He is then asked to 'release the hostages' (There is one other person in the house). Villager #9 and the Cameraman then enter the building, and Villager #9 asks the 'crazed lunatic' why they are causing this uproar. Villager #9 cuts them off, saying 'He's threatening me!' and backing up. The armed police then rush the building, and are now trapped and are now also hostages. The mayor of the Village, who appears to be a baby villager, is asked what he will do, and then becomes a hostage too. Villager #4 is also revealed to be a hostage too, before the 3 villagers sing the outro, and the credits play.[6]

(4) Villager News 4

As in all previous episodes, it begins with the three villagers singing the intro and holding the signs. This time around, the signs say: 'Element Animation Presents', 'Villager News 4' and 'I can't believe I haven't been fire for writing random things on signs'. The main premise of this episode is that the Villagers are at war a rival village; the Testificates (shown in Episode 2x above), which is revealed by Villager #4. They then move to Villager #9, who is on one of the 'landing crafts' alongside soldiers who will be fighting the battle. Villager #87 is interviewed, and is asked how he feels about the situation. They then respond 'I am a boat', with the surrounding villagers also saying that they are boats, until a villager to the left of Villager #87 tells them to shut up. The landing craft now arrives in what appears to the be a D-Day like battlefield, and a Testificate Turret is shown, firing down upon the Villager infantry. A villager, who is scared, becomes part of one of the boat, before Villager #9 and the Cameraman move onto the beach. A tank then rolls onto the beach, and fires a round at the soldiers, which then explodes. A creeper who wandered onto the battlefield is told by a villager that 'This is not your battle!', and then creeps away. A villager, who has never been a battle before is interviewed, and says 'Hi Mom!' to the camera, and the Mom, back in the village, says Hi back to the TV. The villager is distracted by one of the rounds fired by (presumably) the Tank, which then explodes, killing the villager. Signal is then lost with Villager #9, where the video is handed back to the Studio, where Villager #4 is told that they are losing the war. Villager #4 tries to speak 'Testificate', while the three villagers sing the intro, with their signs this time saying: 'Element Animation Presents', 'Villager News 4' and '2 episodes in one week!?'[7]

(Due to the length of the episode, some things have been left out. Watch the full video on the YouTube link above to see it for yourself)

(5) Villager News: The Giant Problem

Link to episode on YouTube

Due to the length of the episode (11:44) compared to other episodes, I've condensed the summary of the plot down to only mention the important events during the episode. Go watch it for yourself.

This episode’s signs say: ELEMENT ANIMATION presents, A great reason to stop whatever you’re doing and watch this video, and VILLAGER NEWS. Villager #9 and the cameraman show several giant mobs, which wreak havoc upon the village. A villager, who was listening to some music with his headphones on was distracted, and was then crushed by the giant rabbit. The rabbit then starts moving toward the village. All the villagers begin to panic. During this chaos, another villager is crushed by the rabbit. A villager tries to distract the rabbit by putting all the town’s food into one pile, but ends up failing to distract it. It then turns out that it was a neighboring village that was being attacked, and not the original village. The village is shown to be ablaze, and one of the villagers is on fire, and then, the Fire Department pulls up, and sprays the villager with other villagers (note that the villager had put the fire out). The townsfolk (of the original village) then have a meeting to discuss the situation, with Testificate Man present. A villager is interrogated by an investigator, who asks what they thought of some pictures he took of himself. The villager is buried alive, but they managed to dig themselves free. The investigator came across an enchanted lake, which seemed to be the cause of the situation. The investigator then notices a witch’s hut on the other side of the lake. They burst into the building, and the witch re-enacts how the whole thing happened. A villager then swims down to pull the plug at the bottom of the lake, and is successful, but before all the enchanted water could drain away, a creeper, which was pushed into the lake, becomes enlarged. Villager #4 says that he will ‘play fortnite until this blows over’, and the episode ends.[8]

(6) Villager News: WAR!

Link to episode on YouTube

Like the previous episode, due to it being 14 minutes long, I've condensed down the summary of the episode to only the important events. For the whole thing, watch the episode yourself.

A flashback to the previous episode is displayed, before the three villagers holding the signs, which say: Element Animation Presents, WAR!, and Villager News. Villager #5 also replaces Villager #4 as the person in the studio. Villager #9 is shown on a cliff, viewing the giant creeper. The witch who caused the situation shows the antidote, before being thrown into the Pit of Death. The Military is being prepped for the situation, to fight the creepers. A villager was involuntarily nominated to be the villager who would use the antidote against the creeper. However, they trip and fall, causing the antidote to be dropped. Villager #61 then fights a creeper in a Final Fantasy battle. Villager #4, who was ‘back from playing fortnite’  caused the antidote to literally fly away, smashing onto a regular creeper. Villager #4 is sadly then killed by a creeper. The Witch is then asked for some more antidote, but in return, is released from the Pit of Death, along with Villager #14. Villager #9 was then brought over the battlefield by a villager-helicopter. Around this time, Villager #9 says some motivational stuff, so that they can have a flashback later. The commander then sends in the Daladas, which are several fighter jets with villager-missiles on board. The missiles are fired into the battlefield, with no serious effect. Villager #9 now reaches the head of the creeper. In a plot twist, it then turns out that some of the villager-helicopters were creepers, and then Villager #9 is launched onto the creeper’s head, with 2 creepers. Artillery cannons fired at the creeper, which caused it to lurch, and Villager #9 nearly falls off, along with the Antidote. Their flashback then happens, allowing Villager #9 to get back onto their legs. They jump off of the creeper, kicking the antidote in its mouth, successfully shrinking the creeper before it could explode. All the creepers then retreat, and it is a W for the villagers! Villager #9 was then given a tombstone in the graveyard, but once the investigator left, they dug themselves out.

(8) Villager News in 60s

Link to episode on YouTube

In this episode, there is no usual intro, and Villager #5 starts by announcing that the world is going to end. Villager #9 shows a rocket, made of villagers, which will be launched into 'space', to ensure to continuity of Villagerkind. Villager #39 was meant to board the rocket, but he was too late. The rocket launches, with more villagers being used as propellant/rocket fuel. A scientist, who 'knows' how to prevent the end of the world is interviewed, as he must tell people a piece of vital information, but is sadly interrupted before he could talk (Lets be honest, it's YouTube, it probably would've been 'You need to like the video and subscribe to Element Animation!' or something). Villager #5 tells the audience to 'prepare for the explosion', and a few seconds later, the world disappears (presumably being deleted). The Villager Rocket is shown, flying past the camera.[9]
