Kate Laura McGill (born 10th March 1990) is a British Singer, Songwriter currently signed to 1Click Music. Her début album replaced, released on the 26th September 2011 ^[1] is widely available through itunes, amazon.com and in hard copies at Caffe Nero stores in the UK.

Kate was born in Carmarthen,Wales to Joanna and Rory, and has three siblings, Victoria, Stephen and Nick. Kate moved to Plymouth during her childhood. She began studying Theatre and Performance in 2008 at Plymouth University but has since stopped due to developments in her music career. ^[2]

Kate joined YouTube on 13 Dec 2006 ^[3] under the user name katem3 and records indicate her first video, a cover of Landlocked Blues - Bright Eyes was uploaded on 4 Nov 2007 ^[4]. This original channel has over 139,000 subscribers, over 2.5million views and videos uploaded under the name katem3 have been viewed over 24million times ^[5] . She rose to popularity through her acoustic covers of songs. Her most viewed video to date is her cover of Adele's Someone Like You which boasts over 2.1million views ^[6].

In May 2008 Kate produced a new YouTube channel: mynameiskate3, described as 'for all the videos that didn't quite make it. All the videos that I want to do...but don't think will really get anywhere in the world of cyber space. Unpopular songs, for example.' Although not her main channel, Kate still boasts over 20,000 subscribers and nearly 2million views on her uploads from this channel. ^[7]

Further to these channels, Kate also created 3metak (katem3 backwards) citied for the purpose of her "own personal videos", that include videos of Kate and her friends, out-takes, interviews and a few musical clips of Kate's making. ^[8]
