Activities

Kunchala HANUMANTHA RAO hailing from Vijayawada was very much inspired by the ideals of Congress Sevadal and he became its active member. He organized many Congress Meetings with rare leadership qualities and ability. He participated in State and National level Congress Sevadal meetings and adhered to the principles of Congress Sevadal in letter and spirit. He took initiation to start woman wing of Congress Sevadal in Visakhapatnam. He submitted a memo to then congress affairs in charge Mr. Digvijaysingh in Hyderabad regarding the creation of nominated posts for hardworking Congress Sevadal activists and got the approval of Mr. Singh.

KUNCHALA HANUMANTHA RAO is actively involved in social activities. He distributed Sweets and Fruits to Students of Blind School in Visakhapatnam, established Chalivendrams for needy people during the summer.

He actively canvassed for Congress candidates in Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation elections and was instrumental in integrating the Congress members together after the elections were over.

KUNCHALA HANUMANTHA RAO worked vigorously for increasing the Congress Sevadal enrollment by inspiring and enrolling youth. He believes that Congress Sevadal has a future in national building and it is necessary to make it strong at the grass root level. So he enrolled so many people in the cadres of Congress Sevadal. He believes that it is a social responsibility for a political leader not only to be useful to the party, but also necessary to be a responsible citizen. It is very much essential for a leader to inspire and create awareness among the people towards the rights and duties. At the same time he believes that it is necessary to root out blind notions and beliefs. For the purpose of awakening the people and guiding the Government in the right direction established The Telugu Monthly Magazine “VIJAYABATA”. The main objective of the magazine is to change wrong social attitudes and propagating the ideals of our national leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Smt. Indira Gandhi and Congress Party and Congress Sevadal in general and human rights and constitutional duties in particular.

In recognition of his services in Congress Sevadal, KUNCHALA HANUMANTHA RAO was nominated as Vice Chairman, A.P. Government Madya Vimochana Prachara Committee, Visakhapatnam District. After being nominated to the Vice Chairman’s post, right from the day one, KUNCHALA HANUMANTHA RAO has been taking active initiation to create a positive awareness among the people of Visakhapatnam District, on the evil effects of illicit liquor. He is inspired and impressed by the pro-poor policies of Honorable Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy. According to KUNCHALA HANUMANTHA RAO, the root cause of the ills of poor people is consumption of alcohol. The way to weed out the evil is to educate them and create an awareness among them by all means. In this direction, he conducted a massive awareness programme on “Evil effects of illicit liquor” in Govt. Junior College, Bheemunipatnam on 12-09-2008 mainly targeting young people (college and high school children) and women. According to KUNCHALA HANUMANTHA RAO, when majority of family members are aware and convinced against drinking, the evil of alcohol is automatically wiped out and the people can get the fruits of Government’s pro-poor policies like Employment guarantee programme, Indiramma Illu, Rajiv Aarogya Sree etc… and if it happens, the Indiramma Rajyam can be achieved very easily. He believes that, it is not enough for the Government to introduce and implement various pro-poor programmes, it is necessary to take them to the people effectively.

As a district organizer of Congress Sevadal, Vice Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Government Madya Vimochana Prachara Committee, Visakhapatnam District and a journalist of highest order is doing yeoman service to further the cause of poor people and the pro-poor Government in letter and spirit.
