Jesse Quist also known as KingQuist is a digital marketing consultant who resides in Toronto. He has been a student of search engine marketing since 2007. He had a small business selling shoes online where necessity and the desire to outpace his competitors lead him to develop SEO marketing skills. He now runs a digital marketing blog called Metrico Marketing. He can also be followed on Linkedin and Twitter.
Jesse Quist was born in a small city called Tema, in the country of Ghana. He moved to Canada at the age of 12 but has never forgotten his birthplace. He frequents Ghana and has started a foundation called "Sika" which means money in the local Twi dialect to help raise funds for the underprivileged children. He raises funds by designing and selling fashion accessories.
Jesse Quist has always been an entrepreneur, his ventures started at the age of 9 where he created origami flowers and swans and sold them to his class mates for 200 Ghana Cedi. At that time 200 Cedi was worth about 0.10 USD, he saved up most of that money to buy digital Casio watches in the local markets. His parents were well off and he was given 5000 - 10000 Cedi a day for lunch which was more than the average wage at the time but he still had the enterprising spirit. His business didn't stop after the move to Canada. The first months were very difficult,as he always says, "kids can be cruel." At the age of 12 he found out just how cruel kids can be when they picked on him for everything from his thick accent to the darkness of his skin. To find acceptance and a way out he used his creativity and his natural gift of selling to create more origami flowers and sold them at the price of $2. This didn't do much to thwart the overall issues but for a few moments the "means kids" would beg for reduced prices, in a strange way this gave him a type of control he enjoyed.
These days he spends most of his time relaxing in his home in Mississauga either writing for his blog, learning new search marketing and viral growth techniques, or consulting for some of the larger companies in Canada.
