ABOUT KHALWAYAN …

• Established on the occasion of ‘Vijaya-Dashmi’ on Saturday, 11th October 1997. • Registration No. : Maha/2001/Ratnagiri. • Objective : Organize musical / cultural programs in Ratnagiri regularly. • Arranging Monthly Musical Recitals successfully since November 1997 till date, on, 2nd Saturday of every month. All these monthly musical programs are free of cost to all. • Special Recitals are arranged on Gudhi Padwa and Diwali Padwa every year. In such special recitals, Mrs Arti Ankalikar-Tikekar, Mr Shownak Abhisheki, Mr Upendra Bhat, Mrs Pranati Mhatre, Mr Vijay Koparkar, Mrs Shruti Sadolikar-Katkar, Mr Pralhad Adfadkar, Mrs Medha Gogate, Mrs Manjusha Kulkarni-Patil, Mrs Manjiri Karve-Alegaonkar, Mrs Meena Phatarpekar, Mrs Padma Talwalkar, Ms Bilwa Dravid, Mr Vighnesh Joshi, Mrs Kalyani Potdar-Joshi,Smt.Anuradha Kuber etc. have presented their vocal recitals. • Conducting Musical Training Camps successfully every year. • Felicitation of talented artists in the field of Literature, Drama, Music, Art, Sports etc. • Providing stage to the new emerging artists in the field of music and drama • Producing prose / musical-drama (possibly a new one) every year.

Achievements of Khalwayan … • Khalwayan has organized continuous 190 Monthly Musical Recitals successfully since November 1997 till date. All these monthly musical programs are free of cost to all, and many interested people enjoy these recitals. • Also Special Recitals are arranged on Gudhi Padwa and Diwali Padwa every year. • Khalwayan has produced & presented following New Dramas written by Dr Shrikrishna Joshi. • ‘Sangeet Swarayatri’ in 1998 : Stood 3rd in the drama competition held at Delhi. The drama has been rewarded with ‘Chhota Gandharva Award’ of ‘Akhil Bharatiya Natya Parishad’. The drama was recorded by All India Radio, Ratnagiri and relayed on 13th April 2002. • ‘Sangeet Ghana Amrutacha’ (2000) : This was presented in the drama competition at Delhi and won 4 individual awards for acting. Achieved first prize in the 40th State Drama Competition alongwith 7 individual prizes for acting and singing. Achieved 4 awards of Akhil Bharatiya Natya Parishad, Mumbai. Also honoured with ‘Natya Seva Gaurav Puraskar’ of the ‘Sahitya Sangha Mandir’. • ‘Sangeet Shanti Bramha’ (2002) : Presented in the drama competition at Delhi and stood 2nd with 8 individual prizes. Also achieved 1st prize in the 42nd State Drama Competition along with 8 individual prizes for acting and singing. The drama was played at Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Aurangabad etc. Achieved 3 awards of Akhil Bharatiya Natya Parishad, Mumbai. Also plays were arranged at Nehru Centre and Sahitya Sangha Mandir Drama festivals in Mumbai. The drama was relayed by 16 AIR stations simultaneously. Achieved ‘Natya Gaurav Puraskar’ of Sahitya Sangha Mandir, Mumbai. Two artists in this drama were felicitated with scholarship of Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre. • ‘Sangeet Radhamanas’ (2006) : This new drama is based on ‘Mahabharata’ and was played in the 46th State Level Drama Competition and achieved Second Prize. Also this Drama was presented in the Drama competition at Dellhi in 2007.and achived 1st Prize with nine individual prizes For Acting & Singing. • ‘Sangeet Aaishvaryavati’ (2009) : This new drama presented in 49th State Level Drama Competition and achieved 07 individual prizes for acting, singing & music direction.

In addition to above, Khalwayan has also produced & presented following dramas. • ‘Sangeet Yayati Ani Devyani’ (2001) : Played in the competition in Delhi and achieved 4 individual prizes. Presented in 41st Maharashtra state level competition and achieved 3rd rank with 3 individual prizes. • ‘Sangeet Matsyagandha’ (2004) : Achieved 7 prizes at Delhi. In addition, achieved two silver medals for acting in the 44th State level competition. • ‘Sangeet Sanshaykallol’ : Nicely presented in the 37th State drama competition. • ‘Ha Deha Ek Ahe’ and ‘Shasan Parashasan’ : two small dramas presented in Barrister Nath Pai Ekankika competition at Kankavli and Sawantwadi. • ‘Prashna Tumchya Nirnayacha’ : prose drama written by Mr Govind Mokashi presented in the 39th State level competition. • ‘Aahuti’ : Prose drama written by Mr Govind Mokashi presented in the 41st State level competition. • ‘Ghusmat’ : Prose drama written by Mr Pradeep Tendulkar presented in the 42nd State level competition. • ‘Ek Cup Chahasathi’ : Prose drama written by Mr Pralhad Jadhav played in the 43rd State level drama competition and achieved 3rd rank alongwith silver medal for acting in the first round. • ‘Chinucha Ghar’ : Prose drama written by Dr Shrikrishna Joshi was presented in the 44th State level dramacompetition and achieved two appreciation certificates for good acting.
