(Rhythm and Beauty) The book defines the Udu drum as a "pot". "Udu" meaning "pot" in Nigeria.
(Rhythm and Beauty) The Udu drums are made of clay and sometimes the ashes of a family member and it told that the echos of the family members came be heard.
(Practical Percussions) There isn't much to talk about other than the drum is made in Nigeria and that there are others similar to it.
(Drums for Dummies) The Udu drum is placed on the lap. Sometime the Udu drum one or two holes. There is also instruction to hand gesture to how to use the drum and musical notes. Depending on where the hand is place, the different sound it produces.
