Sir Thomas Andrew Alexander Montgomery-Cuninghame, 10 Baronet of Corsehill

Sir Thomas Montgomery-Cuninghame, 10th Baronet DSO (30 March1877 – 05 January 1945) was a Scottish British Army officer and Distinguished Service Order recipient.


Family Life

Montgomery-Cuninghame was born on 30 March 1877 [1] in London, the 6th child and eldest son of Sir William Montgomery-Cuninghame, 9th Baronet V.C. [2] by his marriage to Elizabeth Hartopp, daughter and youngest child of Edward Bourchier Hartopp and Honoria Gent.

Together they had two children, a son and a daughter, but divorced in 1925. [3]

He then married Nancy Macaulay Foggo <ref name=Probate>of British Columbia <ref name=Kent> on 24 November 1925 in London and together they had two sons.

Montgomery-Cuninghame died 05 January 1945 in Willards Hill, Etchingham, Sussex and the funeral service took place at St. Mary’s Church, Salehurst, East Sussex. [4]

He is commemorated on a window in Kirkmichael Parish Church, Ayrshire.
