Michael Dohrmann (born 5 May 1978) of Tucson, Arizona, is an American film director, who has directed feature films, award winning short films, and national TV commercials.

Michael was raised Christian in Tucson, Arizona and attended Sahuaro High School, University of Arizona, and Arizona State University. He began producing videos while studying in school, and later began Chosen Filmworks production company.

Michael's early video production work (2002-2008) was produced for the WELS and Evangelism Explosion. While working for other clients, he began producing short films including Pilate, an award winning short film that became a semi-finalist for the On The Lot competition with the hopes to enlarge it to a feature film. [1] At the same time, he served as an interim pastor at Palo Verde Baptist Church in Tucson, which was the home of the beloved Simon Peter passion play, that performed for 27 years at the Tucson Convention Center. Michael worked on Simon Peter as a performer and director. When it was time to replace it with a new script, he wrote, On The Road To Jerusalem. [2] He also directed live theater shows for CYT Tucson.

In 2009-2012, Michael produced and directed his first feature film Mattie, later named Renegade. Renegade starred Kaylee DeFer, Danielle Demski, Ric Maddox, and Ryan Doom with synopsis - A story of life, love, and gold mining. Mattie, a young lady living in a mining camp of the southwest, falls in love and unwittingly marries a claim jumper, despite the fact that a true ethical gold miner falls in love with her. Yet the gold fields of the Old West brings her the hard reality of her claim-jumping husband. [3] It later premiered, and received formal distribution by Barnholtz Entertainment Inc. [4]

In 2013, Michael won the $100,000 Grand prize in the Operation Paul Revere film festival with his short film Purge. He later directed and acted in national TV commercials for multiple big companies and brands. [5] Michael also a became a member of The Gideons International.
