List of pages for potential editing and/ or cleanup

Search strategy the first

Since I'm hoping to find some pages of Cape Cod affiliated women to update, I started with a general search. I used this string in a Wikipedia search to generate a large list. Massachusetts incategory:"All_pages_needing_cleanup" I then browsed the list or searched it for the names of Cape Cod villages. I found two pages using this method.

Massachusett language -- this article needs to have the non-English words tagged with metadata

Joan Tavares Avant -- this article needs the lead section to be re-written to better summarize the article as a whole. (I'm favoring this one for week four's project.)

Search strategy the second

I used the museum exhibit Historic Women of the South Coast to identify a list of notable figures who may be found on Wikipedia. I then searched for Name From Exhibit incategory:"All_pages_needing_cleanup"

This was not a successful strategy.

Search strategy the third

I continued using the search term incategory:"All_pages_needing_cleanup" search string but entered in geographic place names from my target area.

New England town -- this article needs more citations for verification.

USS Alligator (1820) (Cape Verde Massachusetts as search terms) -- this article needs to have it's lead section re-written to better summarize the article.

Search strategy the fourth

Needing an additional page, I went back to the link I felt was most promising, Joan Tavares Avant, and picked through it looking for search terms to combine with the list of pages in need of cleanup. Wampanoag was a good term to find additional pages and I chose

Massachusett Pidgin -- this article's lead section may be too long and the sections need to be re-organized to comply with Wikipedia's Layout Guidelines.

to be my final item for this list.
