History

Beginning

Toebow was founded in 2013 as a guitar duo. Toebow's founding members met during a stint playing in BOBBY (band) (formerly of Partisan records) and quickly established their sound as a unique force in the NYC indie music scene. Two of Toebow's members attended Bennington College in Vermont Toebow has since expanded into a five part band featuring...

Their music has been described as "a nice dose of shapeshifting, complex art pop".[3]

[4]

Toebow is notable for its use of polyrhythm & odd time signatures, "Toebow draws from the quirky styles of Talking Heads and Frank Zappa while incorporating percussive rhythms from Brazilian samba to Krautrock. Ethereal and doused in surf-rock guitar, this seductively groovy blend forges the Toebow sound. The band has just completed recording their debut album at the Isokon Studio in Woodstock, NY with producer and engineer D James Goodwin."[5]
