The 1966 24 Hours at Daytona was a motor race held at Daytona International Speedway from the 5th to 6th of February 1966. It was the first time a Daytona continental was held for 24 hours, and this race paved the way for Ford's famous Le Mans victory with Ford finishing 1, 2 and 3.

Ford Motor Company had prepared seven Ford GT40 race cars with drivers Ken Miles, Llyod Ruby in the 98 car, Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant in the 97. Ford also had a Holman-Moody team, with Walt Hansgen, Mark Donohue. Ferrari entered 12 cars, most of them being the Ferrari 250 LM racecar. This race also held the debut of Team Penske with team manager Roger Penske.

The 65 Chaparral 2D of Jo Bonnier was the first to cross the starting line, with the 98 of Ken Miles right behind him in 2nd. The Jaguar E-Type 12 car retired due to unknown reasons on the 41st lap, with the Ferrari 250 LM of Denny Hulme following shortly after with gearbox trouble. Dan Gurney set the fastest lap record, 1:57.700, with Ken Miles setting his best lap only 100 milliseconds from Gurney's record.

Ken Miles leaded during most of the race, including the night. The Gurney/Grant 97 was in 2nd. Night came with more cars retiring, including the Holman-Moody 87 car, Driven by Richie Ginther.

Morning came and the Miles/Ruby prototype Ford was still leading, going like a bullet along the banking corners. Gurney/Grant was second, and Hansgen/Donohue was third. Miles was 9 laps ahead of Gurney as Ruby took the final stint for the 98 car, which later in 1966 was re-painted, and finished second in the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. Ken Miles and Llyod Ruby took the chequered flag, Gurney 2nd and Hansgen third.
