Here is some info about me

Harald Turek is a German artist living and working in Glasgow/Scotland & Nenagh/Ireland.

His practice is largely based in photography, however, it also encompasses performance, video and installation. His work deals with the relationship between the real and the fantastic, creating glossy fetishised images of Kitsch objects and subverted Romantic painting and elevating them to high cultural status by photographing them in a manner both painterly and pseudo-pornographic. He also uses his photographic and video work to examine the relationship between the human and the machine, imbuing the cold muscular object with poetic, human fragility.?

Harald Turek graduated from the Master_of_Fine_Arts course at the Glasgow School of Art in 1999. He has exhibited internationally, received awards and has been on artists residencies.

Why a Wikipedia user?

I have always been a fan of Wikipedia and believe in the free distribution of information. My main reason to become a Wikipedia user is to add images and text to some existing articles that deal with subjects close to my artistic practice, such as artists books...

Also being part of the artscene in Glasgow, Scotland I will try and add articles that describe the various arts-organisations & artists run spaces...
